Old style soda shop feel gives this place charm. We ate lunch outside and had pot roast potato leek soup, turkey avocado sandwich, and the veggie layer wrap. All of the food was fresh and delicious! We stopped back for ice cream after shopping. My friend had the Almond Joy sundae and I had salty caramel truffle with hot fudge. Both were delicious.
A great place to take your family for ice cream! The old fashioned atmosphere is a nice touch and serves for nice family memories! I go here when I visit the Corning Museum of Glass for a midday refresher! I highly recommend their milkshakes that are extra creamy and full of flavor! The only downside is that they close pretty early sometimes. I suggest checking out their store hours for up to date information as I know business can have variable hours.
Big selection of freshly prepared, unique, top quality food. A tad pricey. You order and then pick-up your food at the counter, which can get a bit busy. They used to offer self-serve ice water, which I prefer over high calorie/caffeinated drinks and I thought it was NY state law for restaurants to ptovide but now you have to purchase water...humph. Adorable old time ice cream fountain atmosphere still makes this a great destination for lunch.
Delicious, quick sandwiches, ice cream, and lots of other treats! They sell local goods, teas, coffee beans, and the like as well. The interior is also very interesting to look at, and must hold a lot of history. Everything has a loving, personal touch. I got "to go" and ate at one of the many tables outside. The outdoor ambiance is lively and lovely. I got takeout because I knew I'd never finish their generous portion sizes in one sitting! I ordered the Turkey Tost, and it was very tasty.
Love the sandwiches and soups but it’s Really expensive on average 13-15 for one sandwich. The atmosphere is very nice. I just wish the prices weren’t so outrageous.
I have been wanting to come here for a long time now and I finally got a chance. The food was delish and the staff were very friendly. We were a bit late getting there..probably 20-25 minutes before they closed and were able to sit down and eat. People were still wandering in to order at closing time so the only thing I would say is I wish they were open just a bit longer... Hopefully during the summer months they are open later. Either way, definitely worth checking out and grabbing a quick and delicious bite to eat!
My husband and I love going to this place to eat--it is so nostalgic. The service is friendly; the food is delicious. I even love how they have ice cream all year long!!!Food: 5/5
Please follow us on Facebook at SNDTravels. Stopped downtown Corning NY for lunch. Nice downtown area. I love to find local deli/bakery type places for lunch and this was a good find. I had soup and sandwich with turkey on ciabatta bread and house made seafood chowder. The only negative comes here, no fresh brewed ice tea. Deli's have to have that available but I got hot tea instead. The sandwich was regular thin sliced deli meat of good amount and the bread was fresh and soft. Nothing unique but fresh and enjoyable. Upon ordering the chowder the young lady behind the counter mentioned she always has to get the bowl because it's so good. I took her suggestion and was glad I did. Probably the best seafood chowder I have ever had. Haddock, shrimp and ocean scallops in a well seasoned herb chowder with just the right thickness. The scallops we're plentiful and whole and not your typical little bay scallops most use. Not a single piece of seafood was in the least bit tough. Every piece was melt in your mouth. I've almost turned around to go get more just writing this. I don't know if this is a constant menu item but I will be looking forward to coming back.
Great place for snacks, ice cream & hearty bites in the heart of downtown Corning! Cozy atmosphere with plenty of seating plus lots of outdoor seating options nearby. We grabbed soups to go and stocked up on snacks including the cheddar cheese spread for our road trip.
