Old Log Resort & Campground

I had a great time at the Old Log recently. I went to check it out after the new owners Mike and Heather (who are old friends of mine) took over. As a first time visitor I was very impressed. The cabins are clean and comfortable and provide a great alternative to tenting it. The best part is the river and the beautiful scenery. I was amazed to count 22 turtles out sunning it on one log. I even had a first hand experience with the wildlife when a giant snapping turtle surfaced and tried to board my kayak. Luckily I was able to make it away to tell the story (No, sorry I didn't get any pictures). It was easy and fun to go from the cabin, jump in a van, canoe a few miles down the river and end up right back at the campground. Mike and Heather didn't know it was my birthday, but they went out and got a cake for me at the last minute. It happened to be coconut flavor (which is a bit odd) but just so happen to love coconut. So this just shows what type of amazing, giving people they are - not just to their friends, but also to their guests at the Old Log. It really is a great place and I think it will only get better in the future. Thanks guys!

Great place to camp. Heather and Mike ( the couple that owns and operates campground) are amazing hosts who will do everything in there power to make sure and provide a comfortable and memorable experience for all who visit.

My vacation this year was in Michigan. We went to old log resort and loved it! We found the area to be pristine, inviting, and had a great time. I recommend kayaking down the river. I found the owners to be accommodating and kind.

A nice campground, but a little pricy for what you get. There are cabins for rent, or you can pay to camp. Public showers and restrooms are available. Easy access to the river.
