What a wonderful shop. I love all of the products they carry and how they’ve set up the store. Perfect place to grab a gift for a friend or a housewarming. Looking forward to online ordering as well from them, but an enjoyable store to walk through on a day off.
Nice shop with beautiful products. The staff was generally indifferent not offering assistance, unfamiliar with the function of the product I asked about. What I wanted wasn’t in stock at the store I was in, though there were many in stock at the other store. However it wasn’t possible to pay for the product and have it transferred. Nor was there any interest in balancing the stock between stores. The only solution offered was for me to go to the other store or purchase online. I opted for the latter. Order and shipping process were fine. Shipping was free since I exceeded the price threshold. I love the product itself. So, my overall impression is that the physical stores are “curated galleries” to admire the goods. But with a relatively small selection of goods at a relatively high price point, one expects better service.
This store was my first stop on a visit to Vancouver. I am a big fan of beautiful, functional items and this store is a Mecca. Lovely home goods from Japan and a robust selection of books to inspire. The staff was very friendly and offered me great suggestions for nearby places to visit. I will definitely be coming back.

I found the most amazing wool socks made in Japan at Old Faithful. They were hard to find online, but fully stocked in lots of sizes at Old Faithful. So great just before Christmas. The delivery was also extremely fast. Love this store !
One of my favorite stores in Vancouver! My last purchase was Fellow electric kettle and I am very satisfied. Not only it's very beautiful, it also has different features that help your coffee/tea to be perfect.
A beautifully curated shop for the design conscious with minimalist Japanese/Scandinavian aesthetics. I love the book selection as well. For environmental impact I think they could put more efforts into sourcing from nearby Canadian or US suppliers.
Great customer service - the sales person answered all my questions about the blankets, encouraged me to unfold them to examine up close and notice the different fibres and textures. Everything on display is tasteful, subtle, yet interesting. It’s easy to fantasize about a home fully outfitted with Old Faithful.
A beautiful shop offering thoughtfully selected items to enhance the beauty and comfort of your home. I love looking through the table of curated books and beautiful glass/dish ware. I always end up wanting to purchase 80% of the store haha.
Went to the 4th Ave location to check out a Japanese toolbox and knife that I saw on their website. I had called days earlier to make sure they were both in stock at this location and they are. I was greeted promptly by the guy at the register and he helped me find what I was looking for. Great overall service from this shop and I am happy with my purchase.
