We came here for an early dine in dinner. I hadn’t been here since Covid. They’re known for their stone bowls and soups. Our rating overall was 3 out of 5. Ambience: 3/5 Food Taste: 3/5 Seafood pancake – crispy pancake filled mostly with small shrimp, limited tiny pieces of squid & big chunks of green onion. Enough to share with 2 people Seafood tofu soup – a decent portion for one with spicy option avail Spicy Pork Bone Soup – easily shareable for 2 – 3. Came with big chunks of pork Both soups came with a bowl of rice. If you like crispy rice go for the stone bowls! Food Value: All our dishes were less than $20. Good value with leftovers. A small dish of complimentary appetizers came with our meal. Service: 3/5 average. We asked if the portions would be enough for 2 people but gave us the incorrect info. Location: off of Edmonds & Mary street. Free parking in the residential neighbourhood if you’re planning to stay more than an hour.
The restaurant is small but food tastes good. It can get busy after 6:30pm and you might need to wait for a while to be seated. The deep fried chicken all taste good and in large portion. Seafood pancake is good too if you’d like to try.
.. 2 3 .. It's one of the best Korean places around Edmonds area! We had Ohzzudol and cream onion fried chicken, and they were so great. It's all Korean style, so you can fry some rice after with remainder of the sauce! Chicken was also great and I would even reccomend that you could just come for the chicken. All the servers were extra friendly and we loved the service. Definately will come again!
The best Korean food I’ve ever had, so authentic and made with love. I really recommend to try the creamy beef udon! The waitress was really friendly, helpful and accommodating.
Randomly found this korean place and thought of trying as i could see that it was packed. Which generally means food is delicious After 5 minutes wait, me and my friend got seat so while we were waiting, we saw pictures of two menu items that looked interesting so we ordered them. 1. Seafood pancake - God or the cook in the kitchen knows what batter was used to make the pancake but it was an art. The way seafood was cooked with onions and vegetables and then turned into a flat pancake was very interesting but it also tasted yummy. Not spicy or over salty. Crispy and crunchy . Small prawns were falling out while eating and basically they were steamed. 2. The other was an octopus and chicken dish which was not curry. Perfect spices and again not spicy as we asked them that way but you can get ur own spice level. The salad on side was pickled , tangy and flavour full We were so full to try anything. So i will go again.
We arrived about 90 minutes before closing on a Thursday night, and found the restaurant about 30% full. The service was quick, friendly and multilingual. We had the zzhusam spicy stir fried baby octopus and pork, the corn cheese and a side of rice. It came with a bowl of clear broth with bean sprouts, and 3 condiments: Kimchi, pickled radish and potato. Everything was delicious, although the corn cheese was the least satisfying and was the only item that wasn't completely devoured. Portion sizes were good except for the side of rice which was laughably small, even for a side dish. The washrooms were tidy, cutlery and place settings were clean, and the menu has clear pictures and bilingual descriptions for those of us who are new to Korean food. The sign out front says parking in the rear, but it was a tight fit as half the tiny area is either reserved for the neighbouring but her business or taken by trash bins or junk. Fortunately, someone on the residential street pulled away just as we were getting there so I was able to scoop the last spot on the street. Overall a good experience with some slight negatives about parking and the tiny side of rice.
Friendly server, acceptable price, good taste, enough parking spots. Only one thing I didn’t like is, rice isn’t included in main meal options. I would be more appreciated if it’s given.Recommended dishesSeafood
When I ordered for pickup the good thing was their togo box was 100% sealed that means smell free inside the car when picking up and high quality. However, I guess I expected too much...? The baby octopus was quite fishy and only few things were inside. Mainly, It was consist of pork bellys which price is much cheaper than baby octopus. Taste is good but just simple. it doesn't mean it was outstanding
I'm a big fan of korean cuisine - cozy, deep flavours and lots of love. Hits the soul. And I am also quite strict in reviewing Korean food because I eat it often despite never having visited korea - yet! I've eaten pretty close to 90% of all korean restaurants in the GVRD region that are 4+ stars. I've had my eyes on this place for awhile now since it opened maybe around I believe 2 years ago - so still a relatively new restaurant. I've been living in Burnaby pretty much all my life for 3 decades now. We have never really had any good korean restaurants here - very few in fact only until recently more are popping up. This place is almost like a hole in the wall but not quite - definitely the menu is geared more so towards a younger late night crowd however it has many traditional korean dishes as well. Family run with dad, 2 daughters That I saw and maybe I believe mom was in the kitchen - it is a hidden gem, but not so hidden anymore. Fresh ingredients, great service, good prices, big portions but most importantly - the taste was amazing, a hybrid of home cooking with professional execution a.k.a old school cooking with some modern twists added. Come here for their kimchi jiggae, it is definitely one of the best in GVRD - and if a korean restaurant makes good kimchi jiggae, they are usually going to excel in their other dishes - which this place did. Will be a regular here since it is so close to my home! Come here early as they fill up quite fast and do not take reservations. There are now quite a few korean restaurants within the metrotown / edmonds area Around 8-10 5 km radius zone and this one is, in my opinion - top 3.
Loved everything we ordered! Their pork stone bowl and fried chicken were my favorite so flavorful and crispy!Food: 5/5
