Today was the soft opening day, but the food was good and the service and attitude of their servers were good. Although prices were not just cheap compared to other Korean restaurant, I can tell it was absolutely 5-star restaurant. In the photos, the reason why there was some leftover is that I wanted to pack it for my lunch tomorrow. Also, personally I do not like “that” bean sprout side-dish, so my wife and I did not finish it. Anyway, I would like to recommend this restaurant to my friends and family and come back soon to try other soups. Hope the restaurant keeps going like how they are starting their business!
We found this new location to serve tasty food in a friendly clean environment. In the middle of a Saturday afternoon, the restaurant was moderately busy; but we were immediately greeted and seated at a nice table near the front windows. I observed a variety of patrons, including families and the younger set taking a break from their afternoon activities. Parking is plentiful, safe, and free here. The restaurant is new and the whole establishment is in good order. One thing we liked was a small button on the table that you press when ready to order. This prevents you being distracted by wait staff before you're ready to order and makes the serving a little more efficient in the restaurant, so a win-win. One thing that is not unique to this restaurant that I want to mention is the rice wine with chestnut. We are fans of rice wine in general; but the owner encouraged us to sample the chestnut flavor. It is excellent and matches the complex flavors of Korean food perfectly. I always appreciate a new flavor being recommend by a knowledgeable person. I had the pork cutlets. They were crispy and juicy, so cooked perfectly. The side of rice and shredded cabbage was a good compliment to the slightly sweet sauce on the cutlets. The portion was large and aimed at a hungry adult or could be shared between two. My wife had the kimchi stew. She found it delicious with seafood and meat, so quite filling. We were pleased the restaurant respects tradition and delivers meals accompanied by pickled dishes. So many restaurants seem to be abandoning this critical element that defines Korean cuisine. What brings this restaurant to the five star level is the excellent high quality food and the very friendly attending staff. We felt very welcome and cared for. Coquitlam has many Korean restaurants; but this is a restaurant that is a step above the crowd and still reasonable in their prices. Well worth your time and hard earned money.
Ordered #22 and #31. Both are very delicious! You can add salt to #22 to your liking. #31 was a bit too spicy for me and I normally can handle spicy food pretty well. I would recommend asking for mild spicy. Seafood pancake is not bad but nothing too special. Great selection on soups though! Staff are super friendly even on a busy soft opening. Definitely coming back to try other soups!
Today I went Dookbaeki with my friend. The foods I had was pork belly with assorted vegetables and spicy cold noodle. Those two combination was fantastic. I like here’s food and staffs are really nice. I will come back again.
I had a family dinner here recently and the waiters were friendly and helpful. The restaurant looks very new and clean. They also have the classic traditional Korean table button that you can use if you need service. We ordered beef bone soup and it was creamy and fresh. We will visit again soon! Dietary restrictions: A lot of their soup is bone based but maybe kimchi soup might be okay for vegetarians!
I recently visited a restaurant that offered some of the best Korean dishes I've ever had! Their Sundae-gukbap was especially delicious, with the Sundae Korean blood sausage adding a rich and savory flavor to the hearty rice soup Gukbap. I also tried their Donkatsu, which was a perfectly crispy and flavorful pork cutlet Don that was clearly made with care and attention to detail. Another highlight of my meal was the Dolsot bibimbap served in a sizzling hot stone pot Dolsot. The mixed rice with vegetables and meat Bibimbap was perfectly seasoned and the crunchy rice at the bottom of the pot was a real treat. Finally, I have to mention the Gamjatang, a stew Tang made with potatoes Gamja and other flavorful ingredients. The soup was hearty and delicious, with a perfect balance of spices and a depth of flavor that made every bite truly satisfying. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to try some truly authentic and delicious Korean cuisine. I can't wait to go back and try more of their amazing dishes!
First thing I noticed was young manger greeted people with smile yet the rest staff seemed quite and less enthusiastic. I was surprised by how short-staffed for such a big restaurant. Maybe staff should explain to customers before they get seated because I waited more than 20mins for my food which was not ideal during lunch time. Food was mediocre and bit too sweet to me. Kimchi side dish was good though! Hopefully they get better near future so I would give 4 stars to just support newly opened restaurant. Good luck
Brand opening for couple of weeks. Very welcoming atmosphere and great dishes with very affordable prices. We had chapchae, #38 and #47 and all are very flavourful compared to other Korean places that we have been to. There were mostly Korean customers in the restaurant so I think that speaks for the authencity of the dishes here.
This restaurant has a big capacity. It seems like a perfect place for big groups6 or more. I tried #33Budae-soontubu and #35Sagol-ugeoji-haejangguk and they were both amazing for my spicy taste. The balance between soup and protein+veggie were great. Everything was very fresh and preped properly. I will definitely go back and try more!!
