Oakwood Campsite

There is nothing for kids to do other than swim. In my opinion it's very expensive to camp, and when a person does camp they are right on top of one another. About the only thing the owners care about is the bar. The food is good but expensive. When they put in the tiki bar they failed to move the basketball hoop so the kid's can't even play basketball. There our 2 Park's 1 is pretty small but both of them are falling apart. A person has to keep a close eye on their kid's when they camp cause people speed through the park. The roads are absolutely terrible, big ruts in it. So basically it seems to me that it is a campground for adults. And I know all this from experience cause I have lived in the park since 2009. Many people have brought up ideas for them to do to no avail. So I would not recommend anyone to camp here

They only have 12 temp sites the rest r permanent open up electrical box to hook up nothing but wasps try to get a hold of someone all locked up. paid ahead of time never do that again needless to say was there 45 minutes and was charged for 3 days try to get money back and they said to bad. Would give it a zero if I could

Oakwood is NOT a campground despite the name. We spent $99 for two nights...left after about 12 hours. The "full hook up" site we were assigned had SIXTY FEET between the sewer access and water/elec. The dump station was elevated; dumping requires gravity. Oakwood is a trailer park...all structures have permanent "upgrades" like decks, garages, additions. If you are looking for a true campground in this area, check out Camp LuWISoMo (elec/water sites, clean dump station, bathrooms, rustic sites).

We have rented a cabin 3 years in a row from them and ALWAYS had a GREAT time, you can have a camp fire on the beach and look at the starts the beach and water area is beautiful with very clear water. .Everyone has always been very nice and helpful. We love the area so much we are now planing on getting a seasonal site at this camp ground.
