Norwood Pines Supper Club

Very nice meal in a charming North woods atmosphere. Lively bar & dinning room. Upscale yet casual. A nice appetiser plate comes with dinner that has cranberry salsa, cheese & fresh melon. The steaks we're cooked to specification & we're delicious. Overall, a very pleasant dinning experience.

90 minute wait before food came out and no effort to bring child's food earlier than the rest. Good thing we packed a fruit cup ourselves. Drink orders also took a long time. Better order two up front because it'll take that long before you get a refill. No apology or explanation offered. Acted like that was normal despite plenty of bustling activity by serving staff. Once it arrived the food was good, but the service and wait time need major improvement.

Beautiful setting. The bar area is friendly and the bartender Tommy is awesome. He even manufactured an old fashioned cocktail. Homemade cranberry salsa and pita appetizers were Wonderful. The Stuffed Salmon is our favorite

Overall, we really enjoyed our visit to Norwood Pines. Food was great, waitress was fast & personable, and the place itself is awesome. The downfall of our experience was the bartender. He seemed totally pissed to be there. I ordered a few drinks, and he never said a word. No "thanks", nothing. I paid by credit card, and he practically threw my card back at me, then sulked away. Strangely, he seemed to talk to other people who appeared to be "regulars", but I guess we just haven't earned his respect yet. Yes, they were busy, but still, a smile or a thanks makes a big difference. Even so, the rest of the experience made up for him, and we'll go back next time we are in the area.

I'm giving this place a 4 star rating because we loved our waitress, TK! She made our first experience a wonderful one! We were a little put out at first because we were told it'd be a few minutes for our table (we were fine with that), but when we sat at the bar in front of the bartender he never greeted us nor gave us eye contact. He was more concerned with his ice cream drink and who was walking into the restaurant. Another bartender came over, was not friendly, seemed irritated, and miscalculated our change for our 2 drinks. My husband gave her a $50 bill and she gave us change for a $20. No apology at all for the mistake. Thank goodness our experience went up from there at dinner! There are a lot of supper clubs out there, not sure if we'll be back to this one.
