Arrived at Memorial Gardens for vaccination at 11:55 AM for a 12:15 PM appointment. The entry to the parking area had an individual to check paperwork and suggested I wait 7-8 minutes before going in. He waved me through and another guided me where to park. I then parked and waited the allotted time. I then proceeded to the arena entrance where I was directed inside. On entry I was met by another person who examined my health card and entered the information into a computer. Handed off to another person who questioned me about any exposure, travel, and personal health. I was then directed to a nurse station where I was assessed again and given my injection and given a time to leave after a 15 minute wait. All of the staff from the entry to my exit were very professional and polite. I highly commend all of the staff for their work at this center to make it so easy for the people receiving their vaccine.
What a joke. Chico's little fiefdom. Get the covid vaccine, but the unit here changes the dose dates. Manufacturer says get the second dose at 2 weeks. This health unit changes it to 3 weeks. Why? They can't answer that question. And they get shirty when you question things. Our health unit is a joke.
Poor leadership and targeting snowmobiling unfairly. The remainder of the province and provincial guidelines allow us to snowmobile. There is not much left to do and if you cared about overall health, you would not let a few complainers and lack of data allow you to shut trails down. Using some critical thinking you could understand how low risk it is with gear, helmets, staying apart and maybe gathering to help unload or load vehicles. Shame on you and your region will never get a tourism dollar from me again.
They do what they can, with what they have and they do a great job. My wife needed help to quit smoking. They were backed up for this program and the government wants to cut programs like this. They put her on a cancellation list and someone cancelled. We got the help she needed. Thank you North Bay Health Unit, you helped save a life, I am sure! Much gratitude and much respect for these helpful and hard working folks. Our most heartfelt thanks.
Update your covid vaccine info! Seriously! According to thier ssite. for a couple weeks now, it's still only HIGHLY essential works, born before 1961, or high risk health. Meanwhile its been 40 and over can get vaccinated in Ontario. And try calling? No one answers! Basic.
Chirico makes covid decisions based on?? Only he knows, he makes no sense other than he is power tripping or he wants to bankrupt all small businesses in this district. Now he has put us all behind with the covid vaccines putting us all in danger of being infected with the deadly covid19 virus, he needs to be fired now.
Not a very professional organization. Poor choices and making public health decisions based on knee-jerk reactions instead of factual data. They've closed snowmobile trails to stop the spread of covid because of locals complaining but no real rhyme or reason or evidence that those in helmets, masks, gear and in the bush are spreading this illness. Way to kill the local economy more than it was and go against Provincial guidelines.
Intolerable decisions without any evidence or scientific backing by this health unit. Chirico needs to be fired immediately and this health unit needs to be disbanded and closed! What a waste of tax dollars!
I find it hard to believe that our Health Unit is so far behind on vaccinations. It is unacceptable. Most residents have followed all health rules and now we are being let down. Please step up.
Having to wait weeks for routine testing is unreasonable. This creates a huge barriers for individuals and puts the general population and that individual at risk.
