Community Living North Bay

The person I worked for has been so verbally abusive when I did respite work. And she moved away taken advantage of and I'm still waiting for my last payment it's been over 4 months! I find it was very frustrating when I got assigned to a certain person and all what I got was verbally abused. It was a terrible experience for myself to the point I was in tears. Yes the service was great to sign up. But the qualifications were beyond frusstrating from what I had to deal with as a worker. I hope with the next family I get assigned to will be more convenient for myself and kind.

If I could give my experience at community living less than one star I would . During my time 5 years I’ve experienced and seen some of the worst behaviours anyone could ever imagine. For starters absolutely sickening client physical and verbal abuse was totally ignored . Staff would attempt to report such abuse than would be targeted for doing so very short staffed however 0 excuse to keep an employee who abuses a client the HR manager and director made a very great team to ignore staffing needs , they were great at bullying staff , amazing at ignoring resumes for new postings or simply say you’re not a fit even though it’s unionized . The posting would be posted once again or one of the favourites was handed the position . During the pandemic as everyone we worked very hard and we were rewarded with a 1/4 of a ham for Christmas , until staff spoke up . Pretty sad that state they have zero funds yet they are renovating a perfectly fine kitchen for 10’s of thousands also purchasing 2-6000$ table that are not wheelchair accessible for a house that requires accessibility. Certain staff were allowed to continue employment as super short staffed however these employees would falsify reports , yell at clients ,make extreme false complaints , would leave hours early not report to hR leaving current staff short. One incident requested a change of houses as a staff was transferring that had previously targeted myself and another staff , total of 4 staff had requested a transfer . Because I informed some staff /friends that I would be leaving HR management wrote me up for targeting and bullying which it’s not yet they totally ignored when myself and other staff were actually being targeted . Also the HR manager did a great job of breaching privacy and also calling myself while on sick leave stress while yelling and belittling me trying to force a return to work as they are short staffed . Don’t let the headlines fool you of community living doing amazing things for employees such as free beaver tails , management is the worst ever. They aren’t losing staff as they claim to the 5000$ bonus psw we’re getting , they were losing staff due to their actions or should I say lack of . The same week that I quit someone if 20+ years had walked out and 2 other people that I know . Community living does have a lot of amazing staff don’t get me wrong , however management is the biggest flaw of any company/organization that I’ve ever seen . To the good staff remaining I give you guys praise and kudos . DO BETTER Community Living abuse towards staff furthermore against clients NEVER should be tolerated . And if you think I’m just some bitter ex employee check all my other reviews ALL 5 star , I never leave a negative review however these actions and things I’ve seen cannot be ignored
