While the wait was long the atmosphere was wonderfully pleasant. The manager and our wonderful waitress kept checking on us while the large party in the back were getting their order. While it was her second day on the job she was wonderful even under fire. Now the food dear lord the food was delicious. Eggs super fluffy and perfectly seasoned. And the bacon damn that bacon i want to buy 4 pounds for my trip home. Thank you for the wonderful fair! When i come back ill definitely come back for more.
I'm trying to figure out where all the great reviews are coming from. Maybe we had a new cook or maybe it was just an off day? I have never been a picky person nor do I normally take the time to make a complaint but I just had to let others know about our experience. We regularly visit Charleston and have always wanted to try the restaurant with the giant BACON sign on it! Today was the day! Unfortunately we were sorely disappointed. The waitress was sweet and helpful, did a great job. However the food was the WORST I have EVER had dining out. Not only did it take us an hour to get our food but it tasted like each individual item had been soaked in salt. There was so much salt on it that my mouth was tingling. I know we were near the ocean but I'm certain THAT much salt is not necessary. My husband's toast was cold and piled with butter. The bread was also incredibly dense. My brother in law ordered waffles with bacon in them and said they were difficult to eat because they were as hard as rocks. They also messed up his eggs not once but twice, not to mention they had globs of pepper on them. My sister couldn't even finish her meal because of the overpowering salt flavor. All of us agreed that either Gordon Ramsey needs to pay this restaurant a visit or maybe it should appear on Restaurant Impossible. Thanks but no thanks!
Had my worst restaurant experience I've ever had here. We were a party of four and only one person got what he ordered. No one ordered anything weird or off menu either. They mixed up the tables next to us, and my mother never even got her breakfast, which was just bacon and scrambled eggs. After being there for over an our we just left. As we were leaving the cook blamed the whole bad experience on us. Honestly, we tried to make the best of it, but I'm not paying for 3 waffles when I was only given one pancake. I will happily pay for what I ate. But don't yell at me as a customer. I ordered 3 waffles with berries and cream, I got 1 single pancake with no syrup.
We recently visited Charleston/Coos Bay and discovered the ultimate dive. This mismatched, down to earth little eatery call the Breakfast Barn is like nothing we have ever experienced. Lucas and his staff welcomed us with the same greeting as the locals that packed this place. The scratch made, huge portions are unmatched to any other establishment in the area and the menu prices are surprisingly affordable. With the down to earth comforts of amazing home cooked food, it is no wonder that we completely fell in love with this place!! Thank you -Keith & Kim
AWESOME FRESH HOME MADE FOOD! They were very busy but it was more than worth the wait. I will have breakfast here everyday. All there potatoes are cut by hand and the bread is made right here in their oven. They even smoke their own bacon on sight! Amazing service & the best tasting food in the area. I recommend Nonnies Breakfast Barn hands down.
A lot of restaurants claim homemade but this place is the real deal. Absolutely superb breakfast food. A lot of homemade food here including jam and bacon. the service was perfect and very friendly. This restaurant is a bit off of 101 but is well worth the drive. Highly recommend it!
The staff was great. We had a group of 14 7 kids. Excellent hearty breakfast.
It's been hit miss here when I visit the coast. There's not a lot of breakfast joints in town. My last experience was pretty bad, but I'll give them 2 stars due to previous times. There was a mild wait, the staff would flip the open sign to closed depending on how busy they were. The cook seemed new, our pancakes were burned and our bacon was too salty to eat.
Ate here 7/22. Worst breakfast ever. Not sure where the great reviews are coming from. Must be an owner/mgmt change. Only 6 guests in the place. 3 couples. Husband ordered 4 eggs over easy easy no salt and sour dough toast. I ordered 1/2 n 1/2. To start off we were served cold coffee. The waitress came back to the table and asked how does he want his eggs. I reply over easy easy no salt. After a long wait breakfast arrives the 4 eggs are served on 2 plates? And they are salted. Sent them back and asked that they are served on one plate no salt. Eggs show up again this time 2 eggs one plate. Send them back again and say 4 eggs one plate. My plate is absolutely disgusting. It is supposed to be 1 biscuit in half and hash browns with sausage gravy. They must not know that sausage gravy is supposed to have sausage in it. It may have been a grease gravy or maybe a milk gravy with a lot of grease. Im not sure. The biscuit tasted like it had shrimp in it. If I wanted shrimp I would have ordered shrimp. I heard the word sorry way to many times. How hard is it to cook an egg. The table behind us sent their eggs back also. The waitress came to the table and said sorry about the salt. I wanted to go off and explain if you can't remember write it down. Too much salt could kill my husband but by this time we had given up. Hey but the eggs were free for every one because they couldn't get it right.
Best breakfast restaurant in the Coos Bay Area and the only breakfast joint I know that DELIVERS!!! The people are nice and funny. Everything is homemade. Best breakfast food ever!!!!! Also I imagine the lunch is just as amazing.
