From the moment you walk in you are greeted by a gregarious owner who eagerly shows you to a seat. The food is made fresh and isn’t rushed, with terrific ingredients. Don’t let the exterior deter you, the inside is modest intimate and warm. Simple and quality traditional Japanese fare.

Great little restaurant! There is some wait for the food, but the owner runs the place himself and you know you are getting the food freshly made. He is very friendly. Definitely worth to pay him a visit when you have some time.

Really good street food! Its a small eat-in / take-out place. This is a dedicated one man operation. If you have the patience to wait for your food its well worth it. He does all the cooking and serving and does a great job. Really friendly, courteous and humble yet passionate, is what exemplifies the fusion of Canada and Japan. Love this place!

I love this place!! Best takoyaki I've ever had in the city and the owner is so nice! The food is consistently great and everything is resonably priced. Nobuya is an unexpected take on Japanese and Canadian food that I highly recommend. It is well worth the trip!

This place doesn't deserve a one star. If you want to wait for 1.5 hours to get your appetizer, then feel free to waste your time at this place. Only three tables were occupied when we dined there, so it was not like there was a deluge of customers. The food was salty and nothing to rave about. The service was horrific. We waited for two hours for our main dish to get served. The server/owner was rude to the point of being belligerent when we expressed our concern about the long wait. I appreciate the hard work of small business owners but when they think highly of themselves and above reproach from customers then they shouldn't really be having a business. Go somewhere else where the food and customer service are better.
