Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden is a Municipal Historic Resource providing guests with a unique cultural experience in a beautiful authentic Japanese garden.

Story

The Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden was designed as a symbol of Japan and Canada’s friendship. The garden offers guests a rich cultural experience unlike any other.

Located at Mayor Magrath Drive and 9th Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. The garden is open to visitors seven days a week from Mid-May to Mid-October.

Garden tours are offered three times daily, while the Japanese Tea Ceremony and other special events are hosted on weekends and holidays.

Went to view the lights. Beautiful! Small kiosk serving hot drinks, definitely good idea to get something warm to drink for the lovely walk around gardens. Also provided is a warming tent.

Really really awesome place, with great holiday events, and a nice gift shop. Not to mention how beautiful the garden itself is all year round. Definitely a place worth visiting.

I absolutely love the Japanese Gardens, and would definitely recommend going. It's extremely peaceful, and so beautiful. Plus, if you get a chance to see the drumming, that was incredible. Plus, everyone working there was so helpful and knowledgeable. I like to go every summer.

The Christmas light display was wonderful this year.  I loved seeing it every time I drove by.

Drove with Calgary friends to Waterton Park.  On the way back, they insisted we visit this Japanese Garden as a side trip.  Well worth it.  It's part of a very complete municipal recreation complex that I'd never expect to see in a modest size city.  Very impressive.  I was visiting from California.  The presentation is detail oriented, pleasant, and pretty.  Highly recommended.
