A Victim of its Own Success? Henderson Pool was renovated and re-opened to great fanfare in 2016. The facility is modern, and has water slides, a small diving board, climbing wall, an excellent spray park, and a shallow end for little ones. The concession stand offers typical fare, and the "Kids Combo" which includes popcorn and a Slush Puppy is a decent value. This past season has been very hit and miss. The redesigned pool is a fair bit smaller than the old one, and there are MANY more visitors. Avoid peak times as you can barely move. Access to the pool area is through locker rooms that sadly weren't renovated. The poolside walkway was never designed for modern strollers that seem to be as wide as a car, nor are they wide enough to allow people to enter and exit at the same time, resulting in a fair amount of jostling. This is a minor inconvenience and nothing compared to the next point: pool closures. We have a family pass for the season, and have been coming quite often (say, 3-4 times a week). I can count the number of times on one hand when the pool HASN'T been cleared because of vomit/fecal matter in the water, or a missing child. This falls squarely on the guests, and I've never been to a pool with so many incidents. A little bit of common sense (don't go in the water after eating, take frequent breaks, etc.) goes a long way. To mitigate this, the designers should have made a separate kiddie pool with it's own water system so that if it gets contaminated, it won't affect the larger pool or the water slides. Unfortunately, it looks like we'll have to live with it as-is.

Really good value for the admission price, and a great idea for hot days. Wear sunscreen. Has 2 waterslides, a diving board, drop slide, climbing wall, spray park and lots of space to just chill in the water. There is also lots of benches and grassy space to lay out blankets for parents and friends who don't want to get wet, and concession services. The first time I went here the lifeguards were really uptight and would yell at people for doing pretty much anything, but they've seemed to have chilled out since then and my most recent trip was really fun. I'd suggest arriving early, as parking is extremely limited. I do wish there was a deep area where you could just swim and jump into the water from the edge, but it's taken up entirely by the diving board and drop off area.

Nice pool but they frequently have to shut it down 3 days a week because some kid craps in it. Why they don't require rubber swim pants on babies is a serious lack of common sense. Nice place, extremely poorly managed.

We love to spend summer days there. Lots of room to set up for the day, no problem picnicking, and perfect amount of age appropriate fun for my 3 toddlers. We LOVE THIS POOL.
