We're there at 10h15 on wednesday after office to take a little quick lunch and a beer but its locked, 45 minutes before the announced closing time, this suck and its not reliable ----update ---- 10h45, ordered and served, chicken wings & beer pichets at la cage aux sports, already paid and almost going out now

Honestly no complaints here, it's exactly what I expected-dependable and familiar breakfast food with quick service.

Bad poutine. We went for smoked meat and a poutine. The smoked meat was a little too soft, but ok. The poutine was terrible. Picture if you will, small 1/4" fries that were 1" to 2" long, swimming (drowning) in what looked and tasted like St Hubert poutine sauce, which is an adaptation of their chicken dipping sauce. The cheese curds were very soft and turned to liquid very quickly, no squeak, no joy. It reminded me of someone's first attempt to make a poutine at home. Not what I expect when I'm visiting La belle Province.

The food was OK but the service is terrible. The staff completely ignored us when we were just trying to get a glass of water. They were too busy chatting with the regulars.

We went here for breakfast yesterday. The table was not quite clean when we sat, sticky and crummy, which can happen at breakfast time, NBD. (It's Nickel's, right? Not your linen tablecloth trattoria.) Service was super nice and efficient. The smoked salmon was fine. I had a cheese omelet and the cheese was a slice of Singles-style processed cheese product. My son also got a slice of "cheese" on a saucer, as his order came with cheese. Sexy. His platter had poached eggs, which were perfectly done, but served in a little bowl, in a puddle of (I hope) cooking water. The coffee tasted as if it had been sitting on the burner for a good long time. Usually, cretons have a little spice flavour, but these guys were like salty baby food. The pancakes were rubbery, the fruit looked lovely, but the oranges and grapefruit had dried out some and they were disappointing. The potatoes were really, really salty. Real maple syrup is 2,49 extra. So we had one of the lousiest breakfasts I have ever had in a restaurant, that cost just short of 60 bucks for two, as I didn't want to take out the quality of ingredients, preparation and presentation on the server.
