The Canadian side is great with very quick and pleasant agents. I can't say that for the American side of the process. The boarder agent wasn't very pleasant when we were not sure where to go. Once we got past him, the agents who processed us were better but still didn't seem to do job with a smile, so be prepared.
Had a very pleasant experience at both sides of the border. It was so good we actually ended up in the US before our actual appointment time in Canada we arrived early. All the border control agents were very friendly and helpful. A very positive experience.
I typically try to avoid leaving negative reviews unless I truly feel it's necessary. However, I must share my recent experience during my son's interview on August 9. The gentleman at the front entrance, who was responsible for gathering documents, exhibited an unpleasant demeanor. Despite the center being almost empty, his impatience and rudeness were palpable.nnI had confirmed twice with the enrollment center via phone that a physical copy of the interview confirmation was no longer required. When I mentioned this to him, his reaction was both angry and disrespectful. It was disheartening to be treated with such disregard, especially when we were simply following the guidelines provided. I sincerely hope that someone addresses this behavior, as no one deserves to be treated in such a manner, even if you think that they are missing documents.nnDear Sir, I cannot understand what prompted your attitude towards us. As a representative of the government, you hold a role that should embody respect and professionalism. Kindness costs nothing but means everything. I hope you never experience the kind of treatment you directed towards us.nnOn a more positive note, I want to express my gratitude for the officer who noticed my distress that day while I was waiting and offered genuine kindness. Additionally, the lady who assisted with my documents during my personal nterview a few weeks prior was exceptional—her warmth and professionalism were greatly appreciated. I wish she would have been there for my son's interview instead of that gentleman.
I had my interview on Nov 17th, 2024nnHere is my review:nnArrived at 1:30 pm though my slot is at 1:50 pm est.nnThey didn't questioned about my timings:nnFor interview we need to carry below documents:nPassports, Canadian Pr card if applicable , Valid Drivers license and finally appointment confirmation page print out no digital copies are being acceptednnOnce we submit these documents at the counter they will ask us to sit in the waiting are. We will be given printouts explaining few rules about nexus programnnInterview process:nThe officer will call our name and he will be explaining the important rules of nexus program. No other questions were asked.nnThe officer patiently explained the next process i.e go on peace bridge and finish your next process.nnOn the usa sidennWe need to enter Room no 145 and give our passport, Id proofs,nnThe officer will ask any changes in current address, employer info etcnnThen he gave one printout and explained same imp rules of nexus program.nnTook finger prints and photograph.nnTold I'm approved and I should expect the card in few days he even said due to ongoing Canada post strike you might have to wait little longernnOverall,nBoth officers were friendly and did their job well.nnAny questions... I would like to answer in my capacity.
The process went smoothly overall, but I encountered a bitter individual at the check-in counter who seemed to despise his job. As soon as I began speaking with him, I half-expected to find a hidden camera, thinking the situation must be a prank. His communication was extremely disrespectful, and he seemed ready to pick a fight. I don’t know this older man’s name, but I’m confident the managers are familiar with him, and I’m sure he’s received numerous complaints in the past. His behavior is far from the Canadian kindness one would expect. I hope the managers address this issue.
