Story

The home to the Catholic chaplaincy to McGill University, and the home away from home for many university Catholics. Closely tied with the Newman Students' Society, we provide a space for Catholics on campus to come together to share and create community. Charged with helping to form students in their intellectual and spiritual lives, we have a host of activities including Bible Study, Fireside Chats, YOUCat on Tap, special lectures and forums, and others. We are also proud to support and assist our active student group, the NSS in many of their initiatives.

Mission

The mission of the Newman Centre is to form an articulate, active and committed Catholic laity.

To provide a vibrant social, intellectual and spiritual environment which is enriching for students, teachers, and the community at large.

To work closely with people of other denominations and faiths to promote dialogue, respectful appreciation and cooperation in a divided world.

In a society that longs for meaning and hope, we prepare young men and women to provide Christian leadership and service.

Our vision is that each new generation may encounter Christ in the adventure of learning and serving and to go on to transform the world in His image.
