Newcastle Island Park

Fun way to spend a day with the family. The walk around the island is beautiful and there's a small cafe if you get hungry. The kids loved the "ferry" ride over.

Short ferry ride to the park. Park is well managed and clean which offers access to some nice historical sites. Great trail system that circles the island with many access points to walk along the beach. Trail system is great but offers very few challenges. Great for the novice hiker but the experienced hiker will enjoy the the trails as well.

Fabulous park with lots to do. Hikers and walkers will love it. Boaters have lots of overnight mooring options on docks, 42 buoys, or anchoring. Good walk-in camping. Decent showers. Visit the historical sandstone quarry!

Accessible by boat or a short swim. This island is a gorgeous place to hike, camp or simply picnic. No trip to Nanaimo is complete without visiting here.

Nice place to walk and see interesting history for the area. A good day trip for children. There's a nice open Feild, a play ground, they well food items, there's a few buildings. One larger building that would be a new setting for a wedding or family reunion if you can rent it (I don't know). There's a small lake as well. Boat dock and I believe you can stay overnight.
