New York Gyro

Absolutely delicious! Very happy with my first experience here; staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the food is top notch. It’s just like what you get from the best halal trucks on the east coast e.g. New York, Philadelphia, so it was very nostalgic for me. One thing that’s different is that they have a full salad bar and you can choose from a wide selection of ingredients like pickled vegetables, chickpeas, and more. I really like that! Definitely an upgrade from the places I’m used to. I tried their chicken and lamb over salad, gyro sandwich, and mango lassi. The flavors were rich and satisfying. And service was quick! I will definitely be back and highly recommend it for lunch or dinner. Thank you NY Gyro!

So I just went for my first time and was gonna just order a gyro because, ya know, it’s NY Gyro, but the guy in front of me got this food that looked so good I had to ask what it was and order that instead. I got the chicken & rice and then added whatever toppings I wanted plus some sauce. Sooooo much food for the price and it was delicious. The woman working was really sweet as well!

Very delicious food... location is small but the overall plate is a considerable amount... very good variety and staff is very friendly... 5 stars if in an bigger full service restaurant.

This was a DoorDash order at the end of the night and they didn't send me anything that I ordered correctly but the 1 Samosa. The fries were under cooked and soggy and extremely cold. It tasted as if the chicken was old and not freshly prepared. I also had the chicken and lamb rice were they forgot to put the sauce and the salad in it, extremely dry again and it seemed like they used old chicken. I also ordered caramel cake and they sent me a chocolate ganache cake. Due to allergies the cake was not able to be eaten. So basically nothing that was sent to me was edible I had to ask for a refund and something to be done about the restaurant. I only received a partial refund and due to not receiving all of my money back as soon as I use that money up I will never use door dash again. I called the restaurant directly and was treated very rudely and told basically chocolate cake is just like caramel cake, it's the "same thing" so I should just eat it. I also let them know that the salad was missing and he got an attitude with me so I reported it. I am extremely dissatisfied and will never order from either one again!

Gyro was decent. It was hard to judge since it took the Uber eats dinner 50 minutes to get it to us from the restaurant. The reason for the 3 stars is because the salad with meat doesn’t actually come with any greens which is misleading its just chicken with the toppings you select.

I love this place so much !! I always get the mixed platter with extra white sauce and red hot sauce and it’s so so good, also the biryani and samosas are really good too. People at the counter are often busy but I haven’t had any negative experiences, it’s just a walk in place to grab food. Seems like many of the negative reviews are from people who doordashed or non-minorities/people who probably haven’t been exposed to many immigrants and I would like to gently bring up the fact that it is a really small business in a tiny shop run by people who are not from the US, a lot of things we Americans perceive as rude is often just a cultural clash, please be patient and empathetic and give them another shot if you had a bad experience and actually go in person, it’s not fair to base you entire opinion of a restaurant when you order from a 3rd party like doordash who often exploit small businesses like this one and are also responsible for your order goof ups

Yesterday I was looking for a halal restaurant in Minneapolis and finally found New York Gyro. I ordered chicken rice for 5 people but couldn't figure out how to get them together. Then one of the servers Jay came forward and gave me advice on how best to put it together. As per his word he gave me rice in a big container and chicken, salad all separately. I am very impressed with his service. All the staffs there was good but especially Jay he deserves 5 star for his service. I will definitely visit this restaurant again. Neat & Clean place with lots of food option

Ordered a chicken gyro and was given curry chicken meat. It was the most disgusting thing ever. The cucumber sauce is mayo and horseradish and not tatziki. Worst food I've ever eaten. If I wanted a curry pita, I would have ordered that. Yuck

I went to have lunch at this restaurant with my buddy. Their service and food are amazing. We tasted chicken rice and Gyro and trust me that was so good. I am fascinated by the behave of one of their male staff wearing glasses, he always comes and talks with smile & ask everyone what they like. Such a caring person to the customers & as usual smart. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Fantastic! Food so fresh and delicious! We got the gyro rice, chicken rice, beef samosa, and chicken gyro; meat was tender, fresh veggies, fluffy rice and excellent sauces! The staff is awesome & friendly! 10/10 delicious & highly recommend!
