Story

New World Bistro Bar is an 80 seat gastro pub in the heart of Albany’s newly revitalized Delaware Avenue Neighborhood.

The building is cozy, the food is fresh and creative, and the staff is friendly and nurturing. We have designed the next generation of neighborhood cafes, feeling more like Park Slope than midtown Manhattan. Come as you are.

Original aspects of our 1910 building, such as exposed brick, black pipe and plaster have been incorporated into the Bistro’s design. The Art Deco mahogany bar is originally from the 1939 World’s Fair. Engaging views through former windows and doorways make an exotic multilevel scene —- Demo Chic!

Food is always amazing! Seasonal specialties and menu staples offer something for everyone - even the adventurous. Absolutely the perfect place for date night! This was our second time with Emily as our server and she is awesome! We'll definitely be back!!

Went to dinner with a friend before a show. Atmosphere was pleasant and friendly. Staff was knowledgeable about the food and accommodating. Service was slow which was only a problem because we were going to a show. I had a new dish on the menu and didn't care for it. Companion's dinner was better. I will give them another chance.

EPIC - The food is incredible. The pumpkin hummus was rich and delicious; the eggplant "meatballs" were flavorful and juicy; the blonde BBQ wings were robust, thick and perfectly glazed in sauce; the bacon wrapped maple meatloaf was spectacular and loaded with flavor; the salmon was cooked to perfection - didn't even need a knife to cut through it. Disclaimer -- I'm not a huge pumpkin or salmon fan but had no hesitation in eating those dishes! The service was exceptional - Saturday night, no reservations. The hostess did her best to get us a table but once 2 seats at the bar opened up, we had dinner there (our choice). Both bartenders were attentive, friendly and provided perfect service. I just wish we didn't live 3-4 hours away. But now we know where to go when in or passing through Albany!

We had an excellent meal at New World Bistro. The noise level inside was very loud but we were seated outside. Entrees and desserts were delicious. I had grilled shrimp with yellow squash "hummus" followed by a mixed berry crumble with vanilla ice cream. The service was very good. I would eat there again if I came back to Albany.

Still one of my favorite places in and around Albany. In addition to their excellent standard menu they have a seasonal dishes that change throughout the year &nightly specials. Good beer, wine & specialty cocktails.
