New Brandiz Fast Food

Summary: Yes, this is the best milkshake in town. Red Robin and White Spot do not stand a chance. Maybe Fatburger could stand up to them, but I haven't tried theirs before. Review: Someone on Reddit said that this is where you go to get the best milkshake in town. I was rather skeptical that some little corner store in the heart of the Downtown Eastside could hold that title, so I decided to try it for myself. The milkshake costs $6 compared to Red Robin milkshakes which go for $7. It consists of 3 scoops of ice cream, an unknown white liquid that is probably cream, and maybe other ingredients that I didn't notice. There are about 16-20 ice cream flavours and you can pick up to 3 of them. They make the milkshakes in front of you for your viewing pleasure. I personally had the Strawberry + Vanilla + Mango milkshake and it was simply DIVINE. The thickness was perfect and it was very smooth and creamy. I would 100% recommend this if you're in the area and looking for a milkshake, however I don't think it is worth going on a journey to visit unless you're some sort of adventurer. The location and ambience is certainly not the best, but you'd likely be a fool to think that a place in the DTES smackdab on Hastings is a place that you'd go to for a comfy atmosphere. However, the owner and the employees are pleasant and friendly folk. I walked into a "Hi, how are you, my friend?" once I entered. Great attitude! I overheard some chatter and apparently they've been around for about 20 years now. Definitely worth a visit if you're a curious milkshake connoisseur.

Located in the heart of Hastings. Drug Dealers and addicts all around.. BUT.. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! Great customer service, tasty late night food, lots of pies, cheap prices. It's weird, but perfect.

Every time I've been here the staff have been very friendly and accommodating and that is something that is very much appreciated considering the challenges they face because of what the neighbourhood presents. To say the neighbourhood is a bit rough would be a major understatement. Kid-friendliness: Most of the patrons are respectful when children are present, but the provincial and municipal governments have neglected to address the woefully inadequate mental health care system and this area of Vancouver is where many who need help tend to gravitate to. Consequently keeping a close eye on the young ones is in my opinion advisable.

The cheese cake is awesome! The service is very fast too as they always have at least 3-4 people serving and when it's busy 5-6 servers. The burgers are good too and the milkshakes are worth the 5$ you pay as they are literally made with only icecream and a bit of milk. I would have given 5 stars but the location and over-all ambiance are lacking. In general I will say that the location is great if you live or work somewhere near by and want to eat out without breaking the bank and since it is a takeout only place with super quick service the ambiance is not all that important.

Absolutely the best milkshakes in town. Affordable quick short order food with a family managed business. It would easily be a 5 star but the atmosphere is a little dingy.

Love their milkshakes and pizza - other foods are high quality in deliciousness as well. Each time I bring someone here, they comment how delicious it is and how much of a hidden gem they are. Hidden gem indeed, I recommend giving New Brandiz a try regardless of how you feel about the neighborhood. The only con I can think of is how inconsistent they can be with their hours. Even the listed hours on here seem to be wrong & not updated in a while. It sucks but to be expected due to how few workers they have hired. In all, a very small price to pay for their fabulous foods & drinks. :

Fast, kind service , good food and low prices make this the place to go! New Brandiz Fast Food helps a lot of hungry people with low income be able to have a nice meal that fills them up way more than the same amount of money would elsewhere. I recommend coming hear no mater if you just want a quick bite or a large meal. There will definitely be something to catch your eye!
