I had the pleasure of having Addaline work on my hair a few times. I had never taken special care of my hair and had never done anything but simple haircuts. Knowing this, Addaline ensured I felt comfortable every step of the way and took the time and care to  explain things. The end result was amazing and I can’t believe I hadn’t come here sooner! I wasn’t sure if it would look different on my hair but Addaline got it perfectly! I got a lot of compliments and knew I struck gold by coming here. I got luckier to get such a great and reliable stylist.

I said I would leave this review years ago, finally leaving it now for Addaline / Ada!  I’ve gone to Addaline/ Ada 4 times now, for my first bleach to toning sessions to more balayage ombre bleach! She is AMAZING even when she was a junior apprentice she is the BEST stylist Ive ever had. Since leaving Toronto, Ive been to multiple other hair stylists in Vancouver with months waits in advance and Ada has still been 10000X better than those stylists with lots of followers. Other stylists photos are soo deceiving but Ada’s hair turns out much better than it looks in photos. She has fixed another bad but highly reviewed stylists job for me as well, I flew into Toronto for a few days and I had to visit her.  I have low expectations as I know Asian hair is hard to deal with but Ada has surpassed them EVERY TIME. And she makes sure I leave the salon, not satisfied but HAPPY!  I cannot recommend her enough!! I would fly back to Toronto just to go to her next time. i lost my real hair photos so I only have these for now

Only giving two stars because of the first time I went there - the second time left me in tears :  The first time I had a lady stylist unfortunately I didn’t get her name, who did 100% what I wanted from the reference picture, recommended me amazing treatment for my curly hair and explained me how to style it properly. I ended up recommending the place to lots of my friends. Second time I was excited to come back, but had a different stylist named Ringo if I’m not mistaken who was really sweet but I guess not experienced with curly hair. Even though I showed him the reference picture of me after the cut I got at their salon + the one I showed originally, the look ended up so much different. He also blow dried my hair straight for some reason and when I told him I can’t really tell if I like the cut cause my hair is naturally curly, he was really nice & accommodating and offered to rewash & diffuse it, but again didn’t do it properly. I also told him the bangs were completely different from what I was looking for so he said he wasn’t finished and when he finished it kinda became even worse - it was uneven and really thin not the curtain bangs I showed. I was already tired & not sure if it can be fixed so I said it kinda looked better and asked to make the bangs a bit shorter, to which he said I should wait until I wash it cause it’ll naturally be fixed at that point, and if it doesn’t he said to come back and he’ll fix it. When I came back home and tried to restyle it I realized I also now have really fizzy hair because it was cut on dry hair you can’t do it with my hair type, blow dried the wrong way, and i absolutely hate my bangs and don’t know if it can be fixed before they grow out.  Overall, really upset with the result, ended up paying $85 instead of the $55+tax I paid last time, and left with the look I hate because the stylist was sweet and tried to help but I was afraid it’ll get worse.. Really disappointed and wish I went to the stylist I had the first time :

After not being satisfied with my hair blow-dry initially, NC salon took care of me since then and offered another blow-dry for free in compensation which was flawless and excellent. The staff continues to be extremely professional and did my hair beautifully. Thank you NC Salon, visiting again for more service by Erika.

I've been seeing Erika for more than 4 years. She understands when you say only cut an inch! She's super friendly and amazing at her job, when she moved overseas I'd call to book her when she was visiting Toronto. I'd literally wait for her to visit in order to get a haircut. Would definitely recommend!

Near premium prices for budget barbershop results. Either save your money at a cheaper place you’ll get similar outcomes at NC salon or go to a slightly pricier salon it’ll be a huge upgrade. And beware: cash only if under $200, and they expect to pocket all the change so you better prepare the exact amount including taxes and tips ahead of time.  The service at NC salon and haircut by a senior stylist could not be more disappointing. This was my first time here, and the senior stylist spent only ~30 seconds to ask what I wanted. She then proceeded to finish my haircut within 20 minutes compared to at other hair salons, my haircuts typically take 1 hour… Unsurprisingly, my hair did not turn out to be what I asked for. After I explained again what I wanted, the senior stylist tried fixing but was cutting my hair shorter than what I had communicated. She then completely skipped the clean up part where at other salons, they would try to remove hair pieces stuck onto you from the cutting. Instead, she left me in the chair and immediately went to grab my coat which I thought was nice at the time… but the hair pieces felt uncomfortable against the skin and when I got home, I noticed the hair pieces everywhere…on my face and stuck onto my coat, clothes.  The end result looks flat, lifeless, and heavy. I know it’s just hair and it will grow out, but I really felt that the senior stylist did not care and just wanted to get rid of me asap. To add insult to injury, I didn’t have the exact amount including taxes and average tips in cash. She made me feel like I was being outrageous to have wanted any amount of change back. She was fully expecting to take all the change ie &gt;30% in tips for what has been beyond disappointing service.  I really wanted to like NC salon because it’s closer to me and less pricey than my go-to salon, but there was nothing redeeming about this experience that would make me go back again.

I usually come here for a haircut because the location is convenient and I feel like they work well on Asian hair, but the last time I came here I felt that my stylist wasn’t that friendly she didn’t even greet me before asking me what kind of cut I wanted and my experience overall felt very impersonal.  I also told her that I don’t want bangs and it’s been more than 3 weeks and my “face framing layers” are still too short to go in my ponytail.

After not getting my hair cut for almost a year because of a horrific experience last year at a different salon, I decided to try a new place and that's when I came across NC Salon.  Upon reception the staff were very kind and attentive. They brought tea, which I was surprised  and very impressed by. Outstanding service and hospitality.  My hair was washed by Reina apologies if I misspelled her name, who did a spectacular job. The wash was thorough, very well done and not a drop of water went on my clothes you wear a robe and they tuck a towel in to the back of your shirt and over the robe like most places, but depending on how they wash, I've had many people end up soaking the back of my neck/shirt. I would definitely ask for her next time!  My hair was trimmed by Toby, whom restored my faith in being able to have a good hairdresser again seriously, the haircut I got before was scarring. Toby put a lot of time and care in to my hair and I couldn't have been happier with the result. When he was drying my hair, there was another hairdresser who was not busy, and she came by and helped him dry my hair. I was impressed by how much support the staff have for one another here. I will definitely be returning here and asking specifically for Toby. :  Thank you so much to all the staff at NC Salon for an amazing experience. I will definitely be coming here regularly from now on and highly recommend.  P.S. I personally found $55 for wash and cut to be very fair given the outstanding service provided

Addaline did such a lovely job with my hair and paid attention to any detail I requested. The staff here are so accommodating and professional so I recommend everyone to try it out if you’re looking for a fresh haircut!
