It's not at all beneficial, renting from National. My experience with them has not been good, rented a car 2 times with them and it was all fine. But when I went again they were not even able to accommodate me. Even after having cars. 

I would recommend renting from enterprise location on kentmount Rd. Near Avalon mall. They give the best rates in town and are far better than them. Not only that but they will also drop you of to the airport. 

The only additional cost will be the taxi fare to go to that location. But even after that you will be paying less.

Just forgot to mention I am also a member of the Emerald club for National, but they don't even value their own member.

Absolutely first class service.  Our flight was delayed until nearly 2am and Robert happily stayed until we got there even though the desk was meant to be closed at that time.  Very friendly and very happy with the car too.  Would definitely rent from here next time I'm in St. Johns. Thank you.

We ended up hitting a moose about 1 am on the highway. Obviously super shaken up and worried about what would happen with the car, we got it into the airport and our attendant was so helpful. We had bought the insurance for the car and he helped get us into a new one for the last day of our trip. Taf - we would like to point you out by name because you gave us such an easy time and even offered us water bottles and consoled us after the accident. Will 100% rent from national again even if just because of the amazing service we received. Thank you again for taking such good care of us.

Sneaky little 400 dollar 200km daily mileage charge cost you on the family trip this year, I rented from Hertz, better Van, no fine line BS, same price or better, 1300CAD ... was able to drop off the car just like National... Plus the St Johns staff from National were Rude as &&$( to me when I called to ask about that charge... go with Hertz.

When we landed to pickup our pre-booked car after a 6 hour night flight we were stuck waiting in line for over 30 min as they only had 1 staff on shift , when we finally got service we were given the wrong car . We could not stand around waiting for a manager as we were scheduled for a suit fitting for a wedding so we took what we were given  . We came back after to get the correct car which set us back about an hour and ended up being filthy dirty . When we dropped the car back off we were surprised by additional charges over $600 which the lady could not explain and we could not wait around for answers as we were flying out and needed to pass through security . We are now waiting for clarification on this issue . Will not be booking with National again in the future.
