MZTV Museum of Television

About

The MZTV Museum houses the world's finest international library and collection of artefacts on early television technology.

Story

The MZTV Museum and Archive seeks to protect, preserve and promote the Receiving Instruments of Television History. Whereas other North American Museums of Broadcasting feature Programs, ours is unique in its focus on the History of the Technology, as well as on the Sets Themselves.

Together with related original papers, discs, books, magazines, toys and other ephemera the collection offers some 10,000 objects to scholars and students as well as the general public.

The Museum’s mandate is to exhibit the world’s most comprehensive collection of North American Television Receivers for the formative fifty-year period from the 1920s to the 1970s. The MZTV Museum also aims to tell the story of the medium and to contribute to the understanding of the impact of television on the people who watch it.

Great museum! Darryl was super helpful and passionate about the museum. Fascinating collection with amazing information, and the interactive app to guide visitors around the museum was extremely helpful. Highly recommended!
I really enjoyed my experience at the television museum, they have a wide collection of pre-war televisions. The staff were super friendly and engaging.
Loved this small museum, such great staff, fun place to stop off for an hour or two. Great for kids aged 6+ I would say, and brilliant for adults. Interesting and informative.
Extremely impressive museum. Limited hours, but good value and we received a guided tour. It's only one room but there is a large collection housed with some very impressive items including the "most valuable television in the world" which they even turned on and let us watch! Highly recommend, one of my favorite museums in a while.
Has a awesome collection of old televisions, and a great timeline of early television technology.
Really cool hidden gem to check out whether you are into film & tv or not. Great collection and passionate staff. Definitely worth a visit!
It's not a large museum, but they pack a lot of really interesting history into one room. The staff was great and even gave us a bit of a behind-the-scenes tour of a show they were shooting that day.
A fascinating collection of vintage TV demonstrating the evolution of the medium.
