Muskegon KOA

Story

From roller coasters and water rides at Michigan's Adventure amusement park to relaxing by KOA's peaceful private lakes, you will find it here. Settle into a lakeside Cabin or pitch a tent on the beach. RVers really appreciate the shaded, level, full-hookup sites or water / electric lakefront sites. Swimmers enjoy the warm waters and sandy beaches, while anglers are drawn to the great "catch and release" bass fishing. Saturday evenings, enjoy KOA's ice cream social or a hayride around the lake. KOA is just minutes from Michigan's Adventure amusement park and beautiful Lake Michigan beaches. Beyond this oasis you'll find golf courses, numerous festivals and fairs, and other popular attractions such as the USS Silversides, a WWII submarine.

My kids love this place! Jumping pillow and a great lake with a sandbar and water slides provides endless amounts of fun. They wanted to hurry back from Lake Michigan to have time to swim at camp before dark! We've been going here for the past 3 summers and have had no problems whatsoever. Truly a family-friendly/oriented campground.

4.5 Stars - This was a wonderful campground. I usually only stay at state or national park campgrounds as I am a little weary of privately owned campgrounds. We tent camped here on our annual family trip. We had 4 families with kids between 2 and 14 years old. This was perfect for us. I am guessing the bad reviews are from people that you would not want at a family campground when your kids are running around. The bathrooms were clean and the whole facility was kept up nicely. I am taking the half star, because the far shower house did not have hot water and I had a very chilly shower one of the days. Also, the highway is close so you can hear cars, but you can't see them and all of the amenities and activities make up for it. Overall, I would definitely stay again and would recommend this to anyone with a family looking for a nice camping spot. If you are looking for a place to get wild and have a huge party, this campground is not for you.

Had a site on the lake. It was beautiful! The kids loved being on the lake and all of the free amenities the park offered...zip line, air pillow, inflatables in the lake and hay ride. The option to rent bikes and kayaks/canoes/paddle boards was great. Bring a fishing pool, great fishing spot! I gave a 4 as opposed to a 5 because the bathrooms need more attention (i.e. Clean twice a day perhaps). We also had an issue with extremely loud neighbors. It would be great if the park took a harder stance on this. My family had a very difficult time sleeping.

Great campground! Family friendly! There was a lot of fun activities for the kids to do there. We really enjoyed our stay here and will be coming back!! The owner is very involved and goes around to greet all the guests!!

The Campground itself is perfectly fine , with the exception of the disgusting bathrooms. The problem with this experience is with the owner. I have no problem following rules and encourage enforcement of these rules. I do have a problem in which the way the rules were enforced. Steve, the owner, went aggressively after my wife due to the fact my daughter was jumping from the slide. He yelled at my wife and stomped around in a non-professonal manner. The owner does not appear to have control over himself in a humane fashion. I confronted Steve questioning his approach to the slide incident, he had no excuse for his behavior and also seemed proud of it. I'll feel better if I've discouraged at least one person from staying at KOA Muskegon.
