The museum is just great! Very well maintained. I suggest a visit to everyone not just kids. It’s small but full of things to explore. I visited it during the 100th-year celebration of Gus the Tortoise. He’s soooo cute! I loved to see him. The staff of the museum is amazing, very friendly and they take really good care of Gus and everything else. The old buddy deserves all the love!
Went on a Thursday and it wasn’t too busy. The Body Works exhibit was incredible to see, so interesting. Also great exhibits about marine life, maritime cultural heritage, along with some wildlife. Students get a discount. Quick but sweet.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo

Who can resist a museum, especially natural history! When we were in Halifax, we decided to take a wander and came across this attraction. I do love to learn, so I was in my element in here, so much to learn about native wildlife, habitats, cultural aspects of Nova Scotia and its history. :
A place to remember! It is a small museum right in the downtown. We visited it many times in the past. Sadly say bye to the collection that being displayed for 50 plus years on thanking giving day of 2021, last day to see them. Look forward to seeing the new collection in 2023. This place does require a parking fee, $1.5 per hour but you may find the free parking nearby. The favorite part is to meet the turtle Gus and it will turn 100 years old in August, 2022. You can only see it around 3:30pm at the backyard of the museum when weather permits.
Wonderful place to visit! There are living animals in it, not only false ones!!! Loved the exhibitions and animations! OK, not comparable to the Natural History Museum of NYC, but the interactivity was there and staff is actually cool with their guests me included!.
An absolute pleasure and worthwhile experience. Amazing exhibits that change over time. The museum is also home to snakes, frogs, turtles, and more.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Used to bring our kids her 29 years ago. Now bringing our grandson. It's looking old but still fun and informative
Good for small kids but for teenagers and adults it's limit boring. It's fun at the start but the visit is really quick. They need to work on presentation and new articles to add on exhibition. No dinosaurs, no body exhibition...only rocks, few bones of reptiles and dead animals...
Great museum, I bring my kids here often and used to visit often as a kid myself. The exhibits change regularly and I find new things in the older exhibits every visit. It was a little crowded but is handling covid restrictions well. Gus is always fun to see as are all the little animals. They're current exhibits are very photo friendly and encourage pictures.
