About

Exploring the past, understanding the present, and inspiring a better future.

Story

Open until 8 pm Free First Thursdays!

Seattle is our place. We are constantly changing, moving as we do, growing as we build. True, the landscape is dotted with icons of our history; the Rainier R, the original Starbucks sign, the Lincoln Toe truck. But when you think of Seattle’s history, don’t just think about the past. Watch our future unfold. You are creating Seattle. Every word. Every idea. MOHAI is the epicenter of this growth. It’s the quintessential experience of what was built and where we’re going. MOHAI is a place to explore Seattle. As we grow, with all we create, speak, read, write and learn, history inspires more history. MOHAI is an inspiration of original thought, supported with hundreds of years of practice.

Great place to truly appreciate Seattle's history and it's thriving role in the innovation of the 21st century. Really need quite a bit of time to really get through the entire museum. Had a cool exhibit of all the innovative ideas that came out of Seattle, as well as Seattle's history involved with the First Nations and new settlers. Cool location right on the banks of Lake Union with lots of sea planes taking off and landing, as well as cool views of the skyline to the South. Highly recommend

Really well planned and well executed exhibits. The displays were instructive and interactive. Would totally recommend if you have friends in town or if you haven’t been yet! There are historical ships in the shipyard out front that you can go in and visit as well. Look out for parking though, it’s often completely full so look for parking to the west in front of the argosy cruises.

Great place to see Seattle and greater Seattle history, love the exhibits showing off the history of the area. The temporary exhibits are a bit underwhelming, it's currently on pets which really doesn't make sense and the exhibit looks like it was hastily thrown together. You really only need to visit this place once which is great, but with diminishing value each time you come back.

This museum has something for everyone. Traveling through the history of Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. The museum is a little large, but they mix it up with things like the Seattle fire musical/movie.

This is a fantastic place for children and families. All of the exhibits are interactive with sound, lights, and moving parts. It covers the history of the city from early European settlement right up to modern day. Time commitment is 2- 3 hours.
