Visit the award-winning Koerner Ceramics Gallery, displaying a collection of European ceramics unique to North America.

Stroll the Museum’s grounds, where monumental Haida houses, poles and Musqueam house posts capture the dramatic beauty of traditional Northwest Coast architecture and design.

This museum has a wide range of selection of authentic, artistic and unique items basically from first nation people. It's better to plan for a 2-3 hour visit, even though the museum is not incredibly large. The descriptions of different items and processes are very interesting and easy to read. They have an online system, so you can look for items in one specific region (or city). Admission is $18 for adults. I find it reasonable.

This is a wonderful experience to see the history in this place. Such amazing artwork in a very innovative (to me) display method. Each area has many drawers to open containing much more art, sacred items and tools for everyday life than a museum of a similar size may otherwise be able to display. More too see than the one day I had would allow. Hope life leads me to Vancouver again so I can visit once more. A must-see for any trip to Vancouver.

The atmosphere in the Great Hall inspires reverence. I have spent a lot of time in this museum and I always feel deep sense of spirit and reverence while in the presence of the ancestors. The carved poles and other forms embody the love and reverence the First peoples' have for the land, sky and waters and all living beings they share this magnificent land and waters with. The stillness is palpable. Beautiful!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Being a Native American I made the trek across the border to check out what I thought would be a decent museum. Little did I know it is INFESTED with artifacts from indigenous people from around the globe. Even an artifact from MY OWN tribe was here! Amazing place. The ONLY downside is having to pay a pretty hefty amount for parking in my opinion. Otherwise I would have stayed for hours and hours. I will be returning in the future.

Don't miss the drawers in many rooms that you can open to see even more artifacts. There are so many things and information I could spend a week here or do a quick walk thru. Cafe has great food and beverages. Parking is a bit pricey. Website details upcoming events and new displays. If you're like me and enjoy reading about everything a membership may be the way to go. Make sure to ask for a discount if one applies to you because the cashier will ring in a regular adult rate if you don't ask. Enjoy!!
