Great local vibe. Very good draft beer selection, especially local northern Vermont. Our burgers were delicious. Fries were great, but not hot. Still five stars overall but c’mon pay attention to the fries. Next time we’re there, the fries better be hot!Dine in: Yes
My favorite bar in Chittenden County. Lovely atmosphere with pleasant staff, delicious food, great music and 2 single occupant bathrooms that are well kept. The cocktail menu is extensive and the beer selection even more so. Great place to grab Hill Farmstead as they often have it on tap. If I lived closer I would go to this bar several times a week! Cheers!
Great bartender and great little spot to catch a round and talk with friends and family. Seems like the cocktail menu is seasonal in which case my bourbon based drink included ginger beer and classic fall/winter flavors. My partners gin based drink was fruity and delightful. Check this place out when in Winooski VT!
Really good food. Service is always friendly. Had a happy hour here with my company and they were able to accommodate 20+ people.
Our first choice when we came to Essex. Kelsey is the best bar tender. We tried 4 new drinks and they were delicious. Definitely will be coming back.Recommended dishesChicken Wings
Stopped for some snacks at Mule Bar, mostly because we saw poutine on the menu and wanted to make sure we had it during our Burlington trip. The man at the bar was welcoming, and we sat down at the counter against the window with a nice view of Winooski and the park across the street. The poutine was good, though we do feel we’ve had better. The Mule Bar was a good stop for what we were looking for.
After driving all day to get to VT, we were desperately hungry for some food. Unfortunately everything was closed by the time we got into town at 9 pm. Then someone recommended Mule Bar! Talking bout an oasis! This hangry girl was excited that the kitchen was still open! The food was SO good. Great burger, and husbands chicken sandwich was delicious and fresh. Beers were also great. Bartender was friendly and engaging! Definitely recommend for any weary traveler looking for a “late night” bite in VT!

My wife and I live in town and have stopped in for cocktails a few times. Our first experience was wonderful with delicious whiskey sours. Most recently, we tried the Mule Margaritas and they were hands down the worst margaritas we've ever had. $12 for water, ice, and a splash of lime is highway robbery. Super disappointing!
I’ve been to Mule Bar several times and it’s always great. They have creative drinks, good food options and a nice place to enjoy them. This time I got the Justice Mule, which comes in this neat pouch. It was unique, creative and proceeds go to a good cause. I also had their brat and while it was a little pricey, it had a nice snap and great flavor. Mule bar is one of my go to places and it should be for you too! Especially, since every Monday is industry night where they have a guest chef.
