Mr. Red Café - the soul of Hanoi culture and cuisine right in the heart of Vancouver

The cuisine of any region holds its own sophistication, and it is the pride of the people there. Hanoi cuisine, in particular, seems to be the unison of all regions’ cuisine, each dish has its unique charm with the taste that is so familiar yet cannot be mistaken with any other province’s specialty. However, one special thing about Hanoian delicious dishes is that they are all very rustic - which tourists often call street food.

Anyone who has lived in Hanoi or have been to Hanoi, definitely could never forget or not be impressed by Hanoian food. It is still the same “bun cha”, same vegetables, same vermicelli, yet the Hanoian “bun cha” is so delicious, so savoury, from the scent of the herbs to the dipping sauce.

It seems like it is for that very distinctive “delicious” which makes those dishes so famous and even considered as Hanoian specialty, such as, Cha ca La Vong, Vong village young rice, Thanh Tri steamed rice rolls, pho, etc.

Half the earth away, in the heart of the beautiful Vancouver, Mr. Red Café appeared, just like a simple and cozy street vendor filled with gifts from Hanoi bringing Thanh Tri steamed rolls, Vong village young rice, bun cha, mung bean sticky rice, fried tofu and pork, etc., and countless of tasty dishes waiting for diners to enjoy and explore.

Being more than just an ordinary restaurant, Mr. Red Café is not only a bridge connecting people away from their motherland but also a cultural ambassador who delivers the refined arts of Vietnamese cuisine to the world and bring the world closer to Vietnam.
