Came here for last min Father's Day cake. The strawberry cream cake is pretty good. Would definitely try their other cakes next time. But I don't like how they charge a $2 script service for the happy Father's Day sign which was already pre-made and ready to go because those are usually include in the cake fee. It's my first time getting charged for that. Hence the 4 stars. They have donuts too but they were sold out already by the time I was there. Will come again to try them.
Also know as The Bread House. Located in KoreaTown Centre on North Road. They had the best donuts filled with lots and lots of cream, very fluffy and light. We had the Matcha and Earl Grey, so so yummy. Their other pastries were good too. My favorite was the donuts. Must try if you’re in the area. Free one hour parking on the top level in the corner of the shopping centre.
I had the earl grey stuffed donut and it was SO good! I didn’t expect much but wow so pillowy soft and not greasy. The filling was not too much cream and loved the flavour of earl grey. I would just be happy eating this everyday. I bought some other buns too and the twisted Korean donuts but just this stuffed donut alone I would go back to get more.
We had a special order for our wedding cake. It was super last minute so we understood if they couldn't make it. But they were kind enough to check the possiblity and accepted our special order! The cake was perfect for our small wedding and the cake was delicious. We definitely are waiting for the next occasion to order their cake again.
I ordered birthday cake twice. I was looking for the cake whipped cream with strawberry. It was definitely the one that I wanted to. Tiramisu was not real tiramisu but very tasty.
It was my first time shopping here. I like the cream in their cream buns. Very smooth & creamy. The sausage bun is really the best. We also tried their fresh mango cake. Not the best in town but nice and decent for the price.
The best chiffon cake I've ever had, I kid you not. Perfect layers, beautiful texture with the Earl Grey leaves, and the cake was the perfect sweetness no dreadful sugar aftertaste. Good job!
Updated review: It seems that they are now under new owners. They have also renovated the inside now. The prices have increased a little bit due to inflation and also because of renovation costs. We got the sweet Rice twisted donut, tiramisu & Earl Grey donut and the salad croquette. The tiramisu and sesame donut was really light and lots of cream inside. For the price, I think the quality was reasonable. The sweet Rice twisted donut was a bit too sweet and oily for me. The salad croquette was lacking salad and didn't taste as good as the first time. I'm slightly disappointed with the goods I got this time and I'm not sure if I would return next time but if you are looking for a Korean bakery, this is an option. . Would rate it a 3.5 but they don't have that option on here. I was desperately looking for the Korean red bean donut after watching too many mukbangs with it and I found it here and also the twisted donut. This bakery is located on the second floor of the Hannam Market plaza. I bought a lot of their buns - coffee cream bun, soboro red bean, sausage bun, red bean donuts, twisted donut, cabbage salad fried croquette and potato croquette. My take from trying all these buns is stick to their savoury items, the sweet ones ie the coffee cream bun and soboro red bean were not my style. The bun was very airy but not soft enough. I loved their potato croquette because of the savoury filling. Although it was very oily I was very satisfied. The red bean fried donut and twisted donut is a classic Korean snack. I liked the ones here because they weren't too sweet and tasted traditional. I would go back to try their cakes because they look cute and the price is not bad. Tip: get the potato croquette, red bean fried donut and twisted donut
I walked in while waiting for a table at a restaurant next door and wasn’t expecting much. I picked up something called soboro-ppang which is a sweet, soft bun with a peanut-y streusel topping. It kind of reminds me of Japanese melon pan buns. The one I got was filled with a vanilla cream that wasn’t too sweet. It was so good! I’ll definitely drop by to buy a few if I am ever in the area again.
Here is my favourite Korean bakery in Vancouver! I wish I had known this bakery earlier. Im not sure the exact name for it but the green bean paste bread is the best from this bakery. many choices to choose and every single one is gratifying.
