Moxie's Grill & Bar

We've always enjoyed coming to Moxie on a date night. The service and food are great with good selection on the menu. I personally enjoy sitting in the round booths under the oversized lighting fixtures. The dining area has a grand feeling to it while remaining comfortable. There has always been available seating when we have gone which leads me to think that Maybe Abbotsford hasn't yet discovered this gem of a restaurant.

We brought my sister for her 60th birthday. Her beef dip as very tough. My clubhouse was nearly cold. We go to Moxie's quite often so this was very disappointing. We told the waitress about the tough beef but she seemed indifferent. No adjustment on the bill or apology.

Outstanding friendly staff, service & food. The food here is soooooo good, you can really taste that this is fresh made and not some frozen food warmed up like a lot of other places seem to be doing nowadays.

How does this place stay in business? First there was nobody at reception desk. Two families waiting before me said they hadn't seen anybody period for 5 minutes. So I went and told a bartender. Then the food came ice cold. Steak and prawns $35. Okay. But I made the manager put his hand on it in front of me to prove it was ice cold. Both plates. When the food came back it was totally fine. Not great. But so much better when it is hot. The dessert was a $9 Frozen hockey puck of Cheesecake that was so dry it was a fire hazard. I had gone there a couple of years ago after it had opened and had a similar experience. After waiting an hour they came and told me they were out of the dish I had ordered. We tried to go to The Keg but there was an hour-and-a-half wait. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Usually Moxie's gets a four star but this one wasn't very friendly to us. They didn't seem to want our business. The front door was smashed when we were there. For the price of the food and drinks I would have expected better service to be honest. It's just convenient for where it's located in respect to where our hotel was. They should exercise patients
