Mountain Brauhaus

Excellent German restaurant. The food and service were great. Nice views in the heart of the Catskill Mountains. The interior of the building was traditional German decor, The staff wore traditional German outfits, The outside could be a little more in line with that, but it's not. Very much worth a visit..

We were camping in the area and decided to try this German restaurant. The service and food were both outstanding! I have been to Bavaria many times to visit in-laws as my wife is from Augsburg! We had their Weiner Goulash soup and Veal Jaeger Schnitzel. It was authentic, incredibly delicious, and a huge portion. Red cabbage is the best I've ever had! We would recommend it to anyone who wants authentic German food. Go early or you may wait for hours or not get in as it's THAT popular! Call-ahead seating is available so take advantage of it. Met the owners and they were wonderful also.

The place used to be great. Now i avoid it. Wait time can easily be 3 hours with promised 30 minutes. Wait time at the table 2 hours. Waiters ignore you. Management doesnt care. They say they do what they can. Based on 4 hours without food - they can not do much.

Ordered their vegetarian dish tonite which was locally sourced squash with cauliflower , eggplant, heirloom tomatoes and olives and it was really excellent. For a place that's renowned for their meat dishes it was really a pleasant surprise that the chef clearly paid as much attention to a vegetarian dish as he does to their traditional Germán fare. Often go here after climbing and am always happy. Great atmosphere and service. Huge portions of delicious food and reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

I happen to adore this place. Food is always solid, they usually offer duck or rabbit on the specials, great beer, wine, cocktail menu. A few cute waitresses in Oktoberfest attire. This place will always be ok with me.
