Welcome to Motorize - Your EV Store. You want electric cars and we have them, in stock, all the time. Our retail showroom and reconditioning facility are located near the airport in Sidney, BC. We sell all makes, both new and used, and we are the price leader for beautifully clean electric vehicles for fun, travel, and work. We had a wonderful experience with the whole staff, who explained EV principles thoroughly and persuasively.  Stephanie was great, and Josh was so helpful.  We now are very happy with our Leaf.

Motorize provided the best car buying experience I ever had.  No pressure sales, excellent knowledge and a great staff to work with.  Would not hesitate to buy from them again or recommend them to people I know.

I just had my truck detailed here today and I am very disappointed. The overall customer service experience was good and they provided a courtesy car, which was nice. Before I dropped it off, their detailer looked over the truck with me and we went over what I wanted done. Their rate is $65/hr and he suggested we put a limit of $400 on the job, then have them call me for approval to go further. They were to do a basic full detail and a polish and wax. No carpet shampoo or extensive interior work, as the truck is only 10 months old with 13,000kms. I was expecting A LOT because my father owns the exact same truck, except a year older with twice the kilometres. Laird Wheaton GM in Nanaimo did an outstanding job with his for $350. Same service- interior/exterior detail, polish, wax. I am happy with the polish job. He made my truck shine better than it did brand new. My problem is that he missed SO MANY SPOTS even after they called for approval for more time, which I allowed.

-Didn’t clean under the fuel cap (told me he mostly cleans electric cars so he isn’t used to having to do it), 

-Didn’t clean/polish/wax between the raised chrome letters on the doors and tailgate

-Didn’t clean the flat spots in the arch of the wheel wells

-Cleaner overspray throughout the interior

-Didn’t clean the top of the Center console. Must have flipped the console up and forgot to put it back down.

-Didn’t clean or polish the big chrome exhaust tip that sits next to the big chrome bumper that he did such a good job of polishing.

-Didn’t clean excess wax from body seams and cracks

-Didn’t clean the inside of the box under the tonneau cover at all. I’m a contractor so I spent a lot of time taking my tools out of there so he could at least hose it out.

-Lots it spots all over the vehicle that weren’t buffed properly. Hazy spots visible from different angles.

-Didn’t clean under the door handles (very obvious on my truck).

There is more... it was raining when I picked it up and I’m tired from working all day. I pointed out a few things to the guy and he was quick to try to make it right, but for me the disappointment was already made. I have no problem paying over $500 for a great detail job but it had better be GREAT.

You can’t charge $65 an hour for washing a car if you don’t do it perfect. I fully understand that rate for polishing and waxing because it is skilled work. He told me he polished for 5 hours, which I believe 100% because I used to do it. $65 x 5 hours is $325 plus tax. Fair enough. But another $130 to do a super disappointing job of just washing the outside, wiping the dust off the dash, vacuuming a 2 seater, and cleaning interior windows? The value isn’t there.

I explained this briefly to the girl up front while the detail guy fixed up the stuff I pointed out to him. All I really got was an “oh” when I told her I was disappointed with the value compared to other places.

The detail guy told me to come back if there was anything I wanted corrected. I appreciate the offer but to be honest I just don’t have time in my schedule to do that easily. I imagine most other people that can afford a $523.61 detail can relate to not having time to deal with that.

Julian was a great source of information when I was trying to decide whether or not to buy an EV.  He explained to me the pros and cons of EV's and didn't put any pressure on me.  I borrowed one for a few hours and decided to buy a Leaf.  On my journey home I encountered a quick charge station that wasn't functioning properly and even though the people who ran the station couldn't get it up and running for me, he was able to make it work all the way from Victoria, which saved the day for me.  I'm very pleased with my purchase and for the excellent customer service, both from Julian and from Stephanie.
