Best thing about the motel is the location and the view. It’s in Rimouski city but the river is right under your feet. They have benches to sit down and watch the view.nnThere is free parking right in front of your door. The rooms were simple but clean. I will suggest bringing your own shampoo, hair conditioner etc. We were three people so they gave us a joined two rooms. The beds were comfy and sheets were clean. I will recommend it if you are looking for a simple place to stay with a good view.

I’m very disappointed with this motel. I arrived at the reception today at 4:30 PM. I didn’t book online in advance because I saw that they still had two quadruple rooms available. I know that if I book through a website, the motel has to pay a commission, which reduces their profit. So I went directly to the reception and told them that I need a room for 3 persons for tonight.nnTo my surprise, the staff refused and told me the motel was fully booked. He suggested I go to Motel Colonial instead, saying they had a room for me. But all the websites were still showing that two rooms were available. I showed him my phone and pointed to Google Maps, which indicated availability. I opened the Booking.com site, which also showed two rooms available. I asked him, “Why is that? You’re clearly still accepting reservations online. If I book and pay now, is the room actually available or not?”nnThe staff then said the rooms were not ready yet, that they needed to prepare water and other things, and insisted the motel was full. This makes no sense—if the rooms aren’t ready, why list them online for people to book and pay for?nnMy father said, “Forget it. I saw their beach—it’s not even accessible. Let’s go to another motel.” So we went to the motel recommended by the staff, but they required us to pay a $140 deposit.nnLater, around 6:30 PM, I checked the room status of Motel Rimouski again. It showed that one of the two quadruple rooms had been booked after we left, and one was still available even two hours later. Yet, they still refused to let our family stay.nnI feel discriminated against. I believe they turned us away just because we are Chinese, and instead directed us to another motel that required a deposit. I find this behavior completely unacceptable.nnI’ve been traveling in Eastern Canada for two weeks and have stayed at over ten different hotels. This was the last day of my trip—but unfortunately, also the worst. It gave my journey a bad ending. I travel often and have stayed at countless hotels of all types and price ranges, but I have never been treated like this before.

Nice place, room soso for the price but would've been nice to have a breakfast bar

Sunset view is fabulous, totally worth staying here simply for this view.nnThe reception is friendly. Easy to book the room through its own website.

Perfect for a one night stayover. This is a very basic motel, but the rooms are clean, well stocked upon arrival and there are a number of restaurants and stores at walking distance. We had no balcony, but the motel is right the shore of the river - were able to sit there and have our glass of wine in the evening / coffee in the morning. Will definitely consider staying there again if we're back in the area.
