Good food and friendly staff..we had some Club sandwich and chicken souvlaki. Taste really good! The area is quite big. There was a reserved spot 70 people so the waitress gave us a heads-up to decide and order ahead before they arrive and so we did!
Bad service the restaurant dosent look clean. The bbq chicken is boiled and has a nasty taste they just s’mores some sauce on top of it. The salad is just cut veggies. The bread is burned. The place is falling apart. Don’t waste your money. Run ‍
We come to Gananoque often and try different restaurants when we come. We are usually satisfied or very satisfied but our experience at Moroni's tonight was anything but satisfying. I will say that we were greeted promptly and sat down at a table within seconds of walking in, but that is were the good service stopped. It took about 10 minutes before we were seen for drinks 2 waters and 2 chocolate milks. Once we got our drinks and ordered our food, it took about 40 minutes to come out. There were only 3-4 other tables. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo which was nothing more than butter and parmesan if that, barely any flavor. One of my daughter's ordered the kids chicken fingers which looked like they were reheated in a microwave and were extremely dry. My wife ordered the half ribs with ceasar salad but got chicken. By the time the correct plate came, the rest of us had finished our plates despite us eating slowly so that we could sit together. Not once did the waitress come and check on us, which would have been nice since all of our drinks were bone dry. Once we paid the bill, the waitress didn't thank us for our business nor offered any other greeting, just took the debit machine and left. The hostess did wish us a good day. One star for being open, one star for the hostess. My wife did tell me that the waitress approached her as she left the washroom to apologize for the mix up of the plates.. I do not recommend nor will we eat here again. I do not write this lightly, I know the impact of negative reviews on small town businesses, but this had to be said.
Service was nice and the food was great. The food came about 10 minutes after we ordered it. I personally got the souvlaki dinner which was very good and my family memebers also enjoyed their meals a lot. Overall its a great place for a decent meal and I would definitely recommend it.
We ordered an extra large special for take out and It seems , for some reason, maybe the pandemic , the quality of their food is gone down hill. Portions and toppings have been reduced while prices have been raised. Certainly not the great pizza I remember Maroni's offering before. Too bad. Food: 2/5
The low ratings are baffling. We came on the weekend and got the specials which were very cheap in comparison. Steak and side for $12, bbq chicken and ribs with sides for $13. Service speed was ok, the staff were very nice. There was hand sanitizer and masks. The food was delicious. A little underseasoned but there were condiments available. The meat was cooked very well all around.
Nice relaxed place. Stopped here on a long drive. The friend I was traveling with recommended it, as she had stopped here before. Had the pasta. It was a good size and tasty. Came with a decent slice of bread. The garlic bread appetizer was delicious too.
The pizza at Maronis is definitely worth taking the Gananoque exit on the 401 if you want a change from the Service Centre offerings. Best pizza, Greek Salad along with a full Italian/Greek menu that won't disappoint. Family friendly, great service, 5 minutes off the highway. Don't take my word for it, see picture below..
The waiter from Montreal with the King of Diamonds & King of Spades tatooed on his neck was seriously the sweetest waiter ever. But the calamari was too crunchy & too much coating to the point of not knowing it's calamari. Pizza is OK but NOT spectacular. The red wine from Greece was very smooth.
The customer service at this restaurant was fantastic. We were trying to find somewhere to eat breakfast which was near impossible. We called Moroni's and although they were not currently serving breakfast, they accommodated us. The owner came over and said hi - the same man who invited us for our meal over the phone. The server was great, very attentive and personable. The food was also very good. Would definitely recommend!
