First of all, the food and service here was absolutely splendid. Robin was an amazing hostess. The salmon and French onion soup was exceptional and the lamb was also really good. It truly is a more fine dining experience here. What I really disliked though was the shrimp. I could not understand why this would be a house favourite. It said on the menu that it was “huge prawns” and what came out were mediocre sized shrimp. The sauce also had a bitter taste to it. Truly a shame to an otherwise splendid evening. I would avoid the shrimp at all cost.
This was our 3rd time there and each time has been a 5 star experience. The staff and owners really want to make sure you have a great experience. The restaurant dinners have all been 5 star meals too. Wow do they ever decorate the place for Christmas! We plan to make this a yearly stop from now on. Once in summer and once in December. This is the ideal place to go for an Intimate getaway. Great area to do some bicycling in the summer or take a short walk to the waterfront and take a 1000 Islands boat tour. This was our fist time visiting in December. You can visit the shops and restaurants in Gananoque or a take a short drive to Kingston to do a little shopping. We saw the Gananoque Santa Claus parade and had a great time. Rooms are small and cozy with very nice furnishings that make you feel at home. There is a small fridge and coffee maker too. During the summer there is a back patio to enjoy a meal or a drink, or TWO. Steve, John, and Robin thanks for everything. We will be back. You've been warned. Love Ken and Paula.
A wonderful dining experience in the beautiful Victorian home with excellent appetizers, main course selections and dessert. Wait staff were attentive and friendly. We look forward to dining here again and bringing our family and friends.
Wonderful dinner in a very elegant setting. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and enjoyed Sea Bass and Beef Tenderloin, followed by great desserts.
Went last week with my dear wife. She had the lamb and describes it as deliciously tender and flavourful. I had the ribs - falling off the rack with phenomenal glaze. Veggies cooked perfectly with just a touch of crunch. Great service. Highly recommended. On the way out I met the owner Steve, he was delighted we enjoyed our dinner, and was very friendly. He gave me some brochures to advertise for him since I run a business which brings clients to town. We will be back for sure. A rare gem in the area, we loved it.
My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant for our anniversary. Beautiful old building and dining room. The food was incredible, cooked and flavored perfectly. The atmosphere was very nice, quiet and inviting. We will be making another reservation very soon.
Not our first time being there but we arrived to celebrate friends’ anniversary. The food and ambience were exceptional and the staff and inn owners made it a personal awesome experience! We were the last to leave but they made us feel welcome. Definitely at the top of my go to list.
Superb as always. The staff and location are always warm and welcoming and the food is fantastic. The lamb shank was fall off the bone epic.Food: 5/5
While we went a little to early after covid to partake in the fine dining we were still delighted to stay at this wonderfully restored Inn. The owners and staff were fantastic...after going exploring or just for a walk it was like coming home. We will definitely return and recommend to everyone.
Amazing Chef. Our New Year's Eve celebration could not have been nicer. Incredible food, lovely staff, fantastic owners, gorgeous decorations in a wonderful setting!
