Pointe-à-Callière est un complexe muséal érigé sur une concentration de sites historiques et archéologiques d’envergure nationale qui permettent de retracer de grands pans de l’histoire de Montréal, du Québec et du Canada.

En plus de présenter un spectacle multimédia intitulé « Signé Montréal » et deux expositions permanentes, « Ici naquit Montréal » et « Pirates ou corsaires ? », le Musée présente chaque année trois expositions temporaires sur des volets de l'histoire montréalaise ou sur de grandes civilisations de l'humanité.

What a great museum. They did a phenomenal job with this. Could benefit from a museum map. We loved the basement and pirate area for our 15 month old. Incredibly interactive… felt like Disney World, where I once worked. Countless great history and exhibits about Montreal. Staff here are so kind and incredible!
I visited the Pointe-à-Callière Museum for the first time this morning and was thoroughly impressed! It is a truly unique institution,designated as a national archaeological site, the museum complex is built directly over the birthplace of Montréal and incorporates genuine underground stone foundations, ancient fortifications, and an 1830s sewer collector into a sprawling, fascinating underground tour. I kicked off my visit with the multimedia show, which runs about 17–18 minutes. It was an incredible overview of the city's history projected in a dynamic, immersive setup over the ruins. The staff member at the ticket counter was also wonderfully friendly and accommodating, taking the time to answer my questions before I headed in. Because I had a flight to catch, I had to rush through the later portions of the exhibits, but I would love to return the next time I am in Montréal to spend a proper amount of time exploring everything this amazing museum has to offer!
A very interesting museum with information about the city's history over the centuries. The exhibitions are present in a spectacular way with attractive visual and sound effects. The video in the projection room was also impressive.nIt's recommended to purchase the montreal 5 attractions passport, which may include entrance this museum.
We spent a quiet Sunday morning wandering through the underground archaeological site and were genuinely amazed at how much history is packed beneath the streets of Old Montreal. The staff at the front desk were friendly and gave us a great tip on which exhibit to see first before the tour groups arrived. My husband and I especially loved the multimedia show that projected the city's history right onto the old stone walls, it made the whole visit feel alive. Getting there early meant easy parking nearby and a peaceful, uncrowded atmosphere to take it all in.
Absolutely worth the visit! I went to learn more about the archaeological history of Montreal and was very impressed with how informative the exhibits are. The museum seems to be doing an excellent job of integrating indigenous history with European. Any exhibits referring to or containing First Nations artifacts and information also were listed in the language of that nation. The Grecian Heroes exhibit was also well worth the visit!
