Mont Saint-Anne

For a mountain bike resort with an international reputation the resort of Mont Saint-Anne is a disgrace. The facilities are non-existent and the trails have not had attention for what looks like decades. The signage is terrible, with small writing on boards that are hard to see and arrows that serve no purpose from a distance. We met a poor chap who was weekending from Ireland who got lost then when he got to the bottom there was nowhere to buy something to eat and drink. Come on guys; this place could be the Whistler of the East but instead you're running a bare bones operation and wringing cash from bikers.

Staff seemed to busy to accurately and fully explain certain aspects and conditions of use. Whenever the phone rings, forget about getting your issues dealt with and resolved.

I stayed here with a group for five days while we explored the old city. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

There are definitely some nice XCO trails here, but the signage could be improved a little, especially for people who are just visiting and haven't ridden there before. I also did not like that many trails were bidirectional. The trail system in general did not flow well; the end of one trail generally had no relation to the start of any other trail and I spent more time trying to figure out where the next trail was than actually riding.

We had booked our campsite over 6 months in advance and when we got there there was someone else in our spot. They said it was a problem with their system but made no effort to compensate us for their mistake. Instead they put us at the worst possible campsite (right next to the bathrooms), where we got a bright white light shinning over our tent all night long - not what you're looking for when camping. When we went to get our XCO passes we found out that even though we had booked 3 family passes their system had charged us for 3 single people passes. We are definitely not staying there again. Do not book online through their website as their system is clearly messed up. Great XCO trails, though. I recommend staying somewhere else and buying the XCO passes when you get there.
