I had an absolutely amazing experience with Kelly! I have curly hair and she really took the time to explain to me what was the best cut based on my needs. Also what I really appreciate is even though I probably should have cut off a bit more of the length, when I told her I just wasn't prepared for that, she wasn't pushy or aggressive like some hair stylists and really did what I asked. Very happy with the service, the price, and overall it was a very good experience. Highly recommend Kelly, especially for curly hair. Also wanted to add that if you're paying by debit or credit card the machine doesn't have an option to leave a tip. I found that a little bit strange but just a heads up to maybe bring some cash to leave a tip.

I was TERRIFIED to get my hair cut, so it took a lot of research before I decided to come to Monokrome. After reading other reviews, I made sure to book Katia to get a real professional opinion on my hair. It was long, dying, and depressing. I asked with her what hair goes best with my face and she confirmed what things I didn’t want. I said I wanted something fun, but without removing too much of the length. She totally nailed it and gave me something that suited all of my needs and was extremely friendly despite my nervousness. Thank you so so so much for this awesome style!! My hair has really never looked better! :D

The only good thing I got from this place was their cappuccino. Maybe they should specialize in coffee. The staff was so unwelcoming and rude and when I showed Melissa a picture of what I wanted and specified how curly my hair was she over looked my request and my hair turned out a total zig saggy mess.

I visited this salon in August and was delighted by the results (Balayage by Katia and cut by Marek). However, I recently returned for an appointment for a trim with Marek. Despite making my appointment over the phone with explicitly asking for Marek, when I arrived I was told someone else would be cutting my hair - a new hairdresser who didn't work there in August. I was slightly upset by this but I figured it wouldn't make too much of a difference and so didn't say anything. Unfortunately, despite my attempts to be very assertive about what I wanted (only a trim, 1 inch off), the new hairdresser cut over 3 inches off and gave me a completely new haircut (a blunt bob, when I wanted to keep my hair medium length and feathered ends). I expressed that it was too short but she continued to shorten it and did not appear to be listening to what I wanted. As a result of making it so short, she also cut off a lot of the balayage that I paid for less than 3 months ago that I wanted to preserve. So, even after washing and styling it myself I am really disappointed with the result and don't feel like returning. It is a shame because I really liked the services that Katia and Marek provided previously.
