Hed Salon

I originally gave this place 4 stars, but had a bad experience with a colorist - dropping it to a generous 3 now. I would drop it to 1 or 2, but won't, because I know there are talented people who work here other than the one who messed up my hair. It has taken me 2 appointments (and $500 on top of the 200 I paid at Hed) elsewhere to get this fixed. The picture below, on the left, was 30 min after the color was done and I got home. It was easy to see how splotchy, too high up on the crown of my head and not well blended it was. This was supposed to be balayage (which i have had done many times before)... the picture of what I was aiming for is bottom right below. Not even close! I understand, with my dark hair and red I already had previously, it is not easy to achieve this. Instead of letting me know it wasnt possible, he only said "the tips won't be as blonde, they will look more rose gold". Which I would've been fine with. However, any proffesional would have informed that it wasn't possible to do or that they didn't know how to do the technique (balayage). When I asked 2 other professionals for advice, to see if I was overreacting, they were shocked this "colorist" let me leave the salon like that. To be fair, Jess the girl who cut my hair after, could tell I was worried about how it looked. She offered to arrange for me to come back another day, when that colorist wasn't there, to have someone else fix it for free. I turned the offer down because I wasn't familiar with the other colorists and didn't want to risk frying my hair. I would recommend this place if someone is looking for all over color or simple processes and hair cuts. The girl who cut my hair was fantastic! Also know that you have to blow dry your own hair here after a color or wash...I found this so odd, with as much as you are spending on the services. Understandable if only getting a cut, but if you're spending over $200 it's an odd practice that I didn't enjoy. Don't go here for color beyond the basics!

Norbert Boudreau has been cutting my hair for over 15 years. He is amazing and a very sweet person too! He has been cutting at Hed for many years now, it is a very relaxing environment with friendly staff!

why do they charge so much more for a woman's haircut than for a man's, even if the length is the same? I've asked them many times, but they never answer.

Ce jour-là j’ai eu un incident très fâcheux à mon arrivée. Samedi 17 mars 2018 je me présente à mon RV fixé à 10 :00, pour une coupe, avec mon coiffeur Luc. Après avoir enlevé mon manteau, la réceptionniste vérifie mon prénom et me dit: "Je n'ai pas ben ben une bonne nouvelle pour vous". Je devine alors que Luc n’y est pas et c’était évidemment le cas. Je lui demande ''mais pourquoi vous ne m'avez pas prévenue avant par téléphone??''. J’étais fâchée de m’être déplacée pour rien. C’est alors qu’elle me répondit : '' On a réservé un autre coiffeur pour vous!! ''. Je lui ai répondit d'oublier ça et que j'en voulais pas! Ensuite, elle disait qu’on m’aurait appelé mais NON, NON, NON, lui dis-je, je n'ai reçu aucun appel du salon Hed sur mon cell qui est toujours ouvert et comme vous êtes dans mon carnet d’adresse le nom du salon s’affiche lorsque vous appelez et vous n'étiez pas dans ma liste d'appels récents, et ni message laissé sur ma boîte vocale! La preuve que vous ne m’avez prévenue C'EST QUE JE SUIS ICI DEVANT VOUS!! Elle s’est permis d’ajouter que mon téléphone était peut-être défectueux!! J’en croyais pas mes oreilles, un endroit de qualité qui ne respecte pas la cliente... C’est inconcevable et inadmissible. C'était trop et je suis sortie sur le champ du Salon Hed POUR LA DERNIÈRE FOIS!!!!
