Must taste the strawberry cake, tiramisu pastry , eggplant lasagna, vegetable pizza. Our favorite food along with many other dishes. Freshly prepared with amazing taste and quality. It's Mind blowing.
Love this store!! They have an amazing selection of everything you can imagine! From pastas to sauces to oils, as well as a whole hidden nook for fresh bread and baked goods, and a section for pre-made meals! The pre-made pasta meals are delicious! Their pastries are also delicious and they have a coffee corner as well. Always a treat to stop by for some good food. They also had some frozen pizzas from Piano Piano on sale!
Sunday morning, I usually go to the Monastery Bakery to buy bagels for my lunch. It was crowded with many people already there and there were many people waiting in long lines at the checkout counter. I missed free coffee. Previously, they offered free coffee to their purchasers, but now they have stopped since Covid-19 pandemic.
Lots of good food here. The bakery is great. The macarons, cookies, donuts and bread were all fantastic. The prices are pretty average. I expected it to be expensive. It was very busy during lunch time, but they had every checkout open and lots of help at all the counters. I'll be back for sure.
Very good selection of well made bakery items. It would be nice if the bread section was served rather than letting people handle and pick what they want. Also might be helpful if some one is dedicated to helping people navigate the store as more than one occasion I have seen people who are frustrated. Parking also seems to be an issue and not sure if they can do anything to ease the flow of traffic in the very narrow lot
I used to absolutely love Monastery Bakery. It's still good, but just not as good as it used to be. Quality is still great, but prices certainly have worsened, even after recognizing that costs have increased. That said, it's still a good place for cold cuts, breads and prepared foods.
I bought a house at walking distance...just in case - best decision ever! They have great service and products. I love the meats, salads and the variety of fresh produce available!! Croissants you have to try to believe! Just delicious! The hot table menu changes everyday! Its hard to resist: Salmon - ribs - NY steak - etc The deserts choices are great!
This has been on my to-do list for a while. I hear nothing but good things about this bakery. Today due to traffic I detoured and was passing and thought this is it! Let’s get a dinner. First time here so I go up to the hot counter and ask if they are all out of the hot plate foods almost nothing left the girl looks at me like I’m stupid and says no there isn’t much anymore. Ok, i asked if I can have a recommendation on what you have left? … I wish I could explain the disgust and absolute horror/rudeness this girl looked at me with. It was shocking. So much so, another coworker stepped in and asked her to take over another client and politely showed me what they had left, offered suggestions and told me about the cold food area! Thank you to the great girl with coloured hair behind the counter. I am absolutely shocked and upset with the way I was treated by the other staff member. When I say she was glaring at me… she was glaring!! For like 1.5 mins and just so horrible. I’m shocked. Like what?!? I’ll try the food but honestly will I go back? I don’t know. All I can think about is that horrible experience. So weird.
The best but not the cheapest. Great food, great service, awful parking... Don't expect your car to be undamaged when you get back to it. You have to park in a nearby country, if it is a weekend. They used to give away free loaves of sweetbreads and coffee, but inflation and homeless people... Anyway, if you are Italian, ask for the Italian discount. That always gets a laugh.
They have a great bakery section and the deli meats are always fresh due to their high volume. I always shop there on a weekdays as it is crazy busy on weekends and parking is tight and limited! A great local store!
