Food was fairly priced and most things we tried on the menu were tasty. Their pan fried buns were delicious - highly recommend! The negative exception was their Chinese scallion pancake - unfortunately one of the worst I’ve tried. It was dry and not flaky, I’d say worse than the frozen supermarket versions. Service wise, the waiters were very kind. However the restaurant’s overall operations were quite messy. Things were served out one by one, which is not an issue but it noticeably caused inefficiency and confusion between staff. Example: At the end of our meal, when we added on a final extra order of buns, it took a while to be served. Then when served, two waiters came out with it at the same time. Later on, one of the servers came back to us 3 times to check if we ordered it, we had to repeat several times that we did order, but only one, and it arrived already. Not our table personally but there was an angry patron where his food was severely delayed sitting beside us - they were upset as everyone else had received their food but not them when they had sat down a while ago.
Came here with some friends and we ordered a few items to share and our own individual meals. I got the pork belly and egg rice which was really good. The soup dumplings and pan fried pork buns that we shared was also really good. I would definitely come back here and try the other stuff on the menu.
Everything was delicious and affordable. Standouts are the pan fried buns, cold noodles, and the congee. The staff were also very friendly. The place gets busy after 12 and is great alternative to dim sum.
This Chinese dumpling and bun restaurant offers a wide menu with some standout dishes that truly won my taste buds over. The Savoury Pan-Fried Fried Bun A01 - left me craving for more. The buns were perfectly soft, and the savory filling inside was incredibly delicious. The combination of textures and flavors was truly delightful. If you visit Mom's Pan-Fried Buns, I highly recommend trying these mouthwatering buns - they are a real treat! On the other hand, the Soup Dumplings were just average in comparison. If you have to choose, I would suggest opting for the Pan-Fried Fried Buns instead. The Old Altar Pickle and Beet Noodles D03 - were a standout. The dish was packed with generous portions of meat, and the flavors were incredibly well-balanced. I particularly enjoyed the use of potato glass noodles, which added a unique twist to the dish. It offers a spacious restaurant atmosphere. The ambiance was comfortable, allowing for a pleasant dining experience. The service was exceptional. The attentive waitress noticed that my dining companion and I were sharing the noodles and promptly brought us a pair of scissors, making it easier for us to enjoy our meal. Such considerate gestures truly enhance the overall dining experience. Parking: Could be difficult to find parking during lunch hours. Kid-friendliness: They have some non-spicy items on their menu.
Everything was pretty good! Loved the panfried bun, cold noodle and pumpkin cake. Did NOT like the sour beef pickle noodles, it was...weird and sour in a not-so-good way. The interior was nice, clean and spacious. Service was prompt.
the food was absolutely, astonishingly amazing. to be honest I was BEYOND amazed. The people are really nice and everything was delicious. I 100% recommend!!! the icon for the store is also soooo cute I love this place so much I’ll definitely come again !!Food: 5/5
This place is whimsical. Emblazoned across the walls are cartoon characters of a typical Asian mom telling you to keep eating. You should eat here. Repeatedly. The fried pan bun thats part of the restaurant name is delicious, each hand made my an Asian auntie behind the kitchen glass enclosure. The buns are light, fluffy, and crispy all at the same time. The filling is flavourful and has that satisfying pop of soup inside. Excellent. The steamed dumplings are well executed but nothing special - the exterior pastry is thicker than what you'll expect with XLB. Beef and pickled veg noodle was really good - a great combo of sour, salty, and spicy.
first Such a cute restaurant. Food was delicious and affordable! Highly recommend the chicken wings as well. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the areaFood: 5/5
Rating: 3.5/5 Came here for dinner tonight with the boyfriend. The restaurant was nice and light up and modern. It reminds me of DTF with glass to see the workers make each dumpling, bun etc. We ordered the soup pan fried bun, green onion pancake, soup dumpling, and pickled beef noodles. The soup pan fried bun is probably the only thing in the menu that I would go back for. They fried bun is good but there was lack of “soup” probably 1/3 of a teaspoon of soup was actually inside that huge bun despite me choosing the soup instead of savoury option. The green onion pancake, soup dumpling was such a huge disappointment. The green onion pancake was super thin with no onion taste. I felt like I was just eating dough the entire time. I’ve had better tasting ones from frozen T&T supermarket than this. I would highly recommend NOT ordering it. Now the soup dumpling, unfortunately the skin is tooo thick so it felt like I was biting into and eating a lot of dough before reaching to the meat and the soup. Our neighbour in the left of us also said the same thing to us when they took a bite and also gave same criticism/ advise to the worker after they were done eating. The noodles were … not my taste. It was minced beef with pickled veggies and glass noodles. Unfortunately I’m not a fan of this, neither was my boyfriend. Overall, I would come back BUT only for the pan fried buns.
My two Kids loved the dumplings - the cold noodle was pretty good with the tofu soup Probably didn’t need to order two pan fried buns. $65 for 9 dishes Place is fairly busy even at 2pm with customers coming in
