One of the few north east Markham full service Cantonese restaurants that serves dim sum for lunches and stir-fried dishes for dinner. We came here for the Mid Autumn festival dinner. Ordered the 6 persons combo. Food was average tasting for a set menu, and the temperature of food was luke warm. Half steamed chicken was well made. Lobster wasn't the freshest. Bits and pieces of the lobster didn't match the size of the lobster head. Seafood fried rice was decent, not too oily. Roasted suckling pig was seasoned well and skin was crispy. Service was average, some staff were better than others. Dirty plates were changed regularly, you have to flag down wait staff to refill hot water for your tea pots. Decor is up to date as this place has only been open for a few months. Parking: Large free parking lot adjacent to restaurant, but only a few accessible parking spots.
Chinese restaurant with upscale decor and wrapped chairs. Apparently they are run by the same owners as Very Fair Seafood Cuisine in Scarborough. Unfortunately food isn't as good here. Peking duck is skinny, and vegetables are not fresh. Other dishes are average quality. Not bad, but you can easily find better in Markham. Worth a visit if you're in the area. They serve good desserts for dinner.
Chinese fast food with restaurant prices. Terrible food. Everything was cooked so fast - you can tell it was rushed. Eel is disgusting. Salty, rubbery, chewy. Rice is too salty. I am not sure if it is cultural, but service is… we just don’t get it. They treat you like you are not a guest, but a person in a huge line near food truck. Lots of people inside even 9 pm. Very noisy. Be careful - service is charged automatically at 12% We were just in the area but that was the first and the last time we were here. If you are Chinese, you might understand this experience. If you are something else, just stay away from this place. Grab a slice of cheap pizza you will be less disappointed. Sayonara, Misfortune Villa. *** Update: We complained about the food and even initially the administrator was trying to prove that “the food was very tasty”, in the end she was understanding and didn’t charge for the eel we found a huge piece of hard crab shell inside . So I upgrade the service to 4 stars. Thanks to the admin who did her best to mitigate the bad aftertaste.
Came here for dim sum and everything tasted good. The restaurant looked clean, and there was a good amount of distance between the tables. The staff were fine, your typical Chinese restaurant service. By the entrance, check out the frozen dim sum and you can mix and match.Food: 5/5
For a restaurant that is aiming to be a high end Chinese restaurant, the taste is pretty meh and is the same quality as that of lower end places, like Fancy Chinese Restaurant. However, their shrimp was bad in the fried shrimp wontons. My mom had 1, and realized it was bad. She figured it's just the one, but turns out the second one was bad too. We sent it back and requested it be cancelled. When we said that, the manager 60s man, balding didn't even RESPOND to us. We thought he didn't hear us, so we said it again louder, then he acknowledged us. As a service staff, WHY doesn't he verbally respond? He wasn't handling dishes or talking with anyone else. The salted fried capelin fish... Oy. The batter was definitely fried but why was it soft and not crunchy? We were actually able to pinch the batter and it stayed that shape instead of breaking off. The siumai was bland and boring. No shrimp taste and no mushroom taste. It felt like a regular pork meatball. Their shrimp dumplings were disappointing. The wrap was so thick and opaque. At least it didn't stick to my teeth. I have had way better quality for much lower prices, even in Markham. Their congee was the only good dish. Lots of toppings, taste was fine, not too salty. Viscosity was okay... But I like thicker congees. A manager lady also got our order wrong. She inputted it wrong and we had to hunt down the balding manager to get it fixed. We came for early bird dimsum, in which the price for SML sizes were all $5.30, which is typically the price of a medium dish elsewhere. Their taste didn't even match the price point. I would not come back again.
Fresh and hot food. Very good dim sum. Good choice for desserts for a dim sum place. Table size is spacious for 8 people. Can fit a few more in a tighter fit. Servers come to refill hot water and tea often even during lunch hour. Price is fair. The 8 of us end up very full and satisfy and the bill only came down to $23 with 12% service included.
We had our brunch on Saturday, on the mother's day weekend of 2023. I knew it's a new location of restaurant which is a old and Chinese restaurant with good reputation located in Scarborough. The food is very delicious. Servers are friendly and serve quickly. As it's newly opened, it's newly renovated, and not as crowded as other places of "yum cha". But I believe it will get busier soon when people are noticing it.
New restaurant, so expect lots of people to dine here in the first few weeks as everyone likes to try a new spot. This is not a big space but it does the job to serve the local communities. Nice decor and very typical fine dining interior design. We had tried its dim sum and dinner combo. I have to say, the overall quality is good but nothing stands out but does its job. However, I do find the dim sum pricing a lil bit on the pricey side. I do have to emphasize that the service here overall are superb. Everyone from the manager level to regular server and even the staff who dropped of the dim sum dishes were polite and friendly. Moreover, the dinner combo is also pricier than its competitors. For example, at $118 CDN + tax, the combo doesn't comes with any fresh seafood, for 4 people, at $118, it doesn't offer even a dish or Vancouver crabs or East Coast lobsters. And 2 out of the 4 dishes, they forced you to pick the grilled black cod fish and a plate of BBQ duck. Imagine you want to visit this place twice a week? Would you go there and eat the same 2 out of 4 dishes? I really think they should give its customers more flexibility in choosing all 4 dishes and not forced us to order the same 2 dishes out of the 4 dishes. Moreover, if you are less than 4 people, say 2 people, there aren't any combo for 2 and aren't enough typical al la carte dishes to grab dinner. They mainly offered specialty expensive individual dishes that most wouldn't want to order. For example, I wouldn't want to order 2-eats of grub fish, it's not tasty and not a fan. Also, their VIP card is so restrictive, most places may give you 5-10% off, not here, they don't give you on special discount dishes. You can use your VIP card on dinner combos. So...exactly when can you use your VIP card? Mainly during regular dim sum pricing time. Super restrictive with the VIP card that you may as well don't bother getting one. However, this restaurant will have loyal customers coz around this place, there aren't many Chinese traditional restaurant around. So, many who live nearby and don't drive or have a car will opt to walk over here to dine. Parking: This restaurant is located in a plaza so there are plenty of free parking spaces.
This new Chinese restaurant was just opened in Toronto a week or two ago. The dim sum dishes were pretty good, especially the pork liver congee. They served goose liver shrimp dumpling too, which I have never tasted before. I came back to this restaurant right after I arrived in Toronto, for afternoon dim sum. I ordered the pork liver congee again. Also, I ordered a dish of BBQ pork and duck combo. Very tasty.
This Restaurant has great respectful customer service. The food arrived on time and the servers are very helpful and pay close attention to details with their food. The food was delivered to the table fresh and hot. They even go beyond and above to keep cleaning up the table and plates. The atmosphere is very well cleaned and organized. Overall we are happy with their food presentation. We would recommend anyone who enjoy excellent customer service and freshly made delicious food.
