I went to Modern Pastry as a little girl with my Grandmother nearly fifty years ago. Never did we leave without a free cookie and a hug. My sister sent me the iconic cookies for Christmas and it melted my heart. Living in California the cookies arrived in perfect condition, and brought me right back home, to Franklin Avenue.

I received these cookies in the mail and they were wrapped in bubble wrap and shrink wrapped twice for freshness. It came with a personalized card and the cookies were evenly cooked from top to bottom and they use huge chocolate chunks. Chewy on the inside and a good size cookie to go with a mug of hot chocolate.

You can't go wrong with any type of pastry from here. High quality ingredients and exceptionally high quality staff. Try the lobster tails!

We tried a few places for our wedding cake but Modern Pastry stood out from the rest. The cake was fluffy and the fillings were delicious. We ended up getting a 2 tier cake with pineapple and raspberry mousse. They were able to replicate the design we wanted and it was executed beautifully. Delivery was prompt.

Best Italian cookies in CT. The cannolis are amazing nuts and cherries at the end the only way to eat them.

I cannot ever say enough great things about Modern Pastry. They are just fantastic. They have been making our kids birthday cakes or cupcakes since 2008, not to mention the trips in-between for tricolor cookies, cheesecake to die for and sfogliatelle. Love, love, love them!
