I love this new neighborhood cafe as their food is very tasty at reasonable price. Their decor is quite unique and have 3 open rooms with different designs. There’s quite a number of servers looking after the customers so serving time is fast. They offer a few unique dim sum dishes and has another menu that serves a list of standard dishes. Quality is quite good and portion is alright. Highly recommended!
The food was great and the atmosphere was very nice. Feels like I travelled back in time. I see good numbers of staff, but they lack experience. I ordered take out to avoid waiting time, but still had to wait for a while. The order was ready but it was put separately on the opposite end of the same table, and the servers weren't aware until I told them to check. To be fair, the restaurant has just opened recently and is still improving. Most importantly the food was good, and I will definitely often. Hopefully they'll be more organized and provide better services overtime.
It wasn't busy when we went for lunch. Service was nice. They greeted us once we walked through the doors and was seated right away. Hk style milk tea was typical slightly larger than most places. Salted fish fried rice was a good portion and it tasted good. You can taste the salted fish they used for it. Mixed beef noodle soup was decent. The soup was tasty and the meat was tender. Salted egg wings.... would not recommend Very tasteless and you can feel the gaininess in your mouth but no salty egg flavor at all. Beef fried noodles ... looks amazing, smells amazing, but it's very bland.
Decided to try out a Cafe Le Majestik that opened not too long ago. It was a Wednesday afternoon and was sat down immediately. There’s a ton of seats inside and the interior is pretty unique. What we ordered: Salted Egg Yolk Chicken Wings Was not fragrant.. Not tasty at all… 2/5 $13.99 Deep Fried Shrimp Toast Tasty dipping sauce except the shrimp toast tasted like it was drenched in oil… 2.5/5 $10.99 Chicken Cutlet with Scallion Oil on ‘Nissin’ Instant Noodle Nothing out of the ordinary and honestly a dish that’s hard to screw up 3/5 $11.99 Overall I was quite disappointed… nothing I ordered stood out.. Definitely not a spot I would go to or recommend to others
Under new ownership since September 2022. Traveled from Vaughan to check this place out. Cafe le Majestik will not disappoint. The staff was very nice and courteous. Authentic, grass-roots Hong Kong cuisine at its finest. 1960s style decor. Will definitely come back. 10/10. Food: 5/5
Very hk feel… very crowded… your back will hit someone else’s back…. The dimsum special is a little too unique for my taste. Chicken leg wasn’t fully cooked, still had some blood which leaked all over the fries. Curry was ok… wished they didn’t add the hot sauce in it. Milk was not bad but not the best either. Beef noodle was very blend.
This restaurant is bringing back nostalgia events. Love the interior design with colorful plastic stools, table, and old tv around as well. The food is excellent and the service is very welcoming as well. I will come back again to try other foods on the menu Highly recommend
This is what all those other new HK diners wish they could be. All of the food was perfect, the decor is amazing, the servers are good, the owner/manager? is nice, and it is even aesthetically pleasing for the gram ; It is everything a modern HK diner should be. And absolutely packed with people from every generation so they must be doing food right! I would go back every week if I could!
In search of new and trending foods in the GTA brought me to this HK style diner in Scarborough. Located at the intersection of Markham Rd and McNicoll Ave, this restaurant is beside the Majestik City mall. When we arrived there was a tablet style waiting list screen to enter your cell phone number to receive a text notification. We had to wait about 20 minutes to get our table. While we were waiting we saw some of the freshly made food from the kitchen which has a large window for customers to view. The decor also transports you to Hong Kong. The walls have pictures of the towering apartment buildings in HK. The plastic stool chairs and square Mah Jong style tables were also nostalgic and retro feeling. There's a QR code to scan on your phone to order your meal. This is the new age dining experience. Less interaction with the servers. The servers were focused on bringing out the orders. Most of the food was served pretty fast like the beef tendon and brisket noodle, wonton noodle soup and fish ball and cuttlefish ball noodle soup. My family enjoyed the food. Some of the orders offer an option to add a hot $2 up charge or cold drink $3 up charge. Most of these HK style diners give you a free hot drink however this place does not. My dim sum combo was served in a large bamboo steamer tray. The dim sum was definitely IG worthy and well presented. The dim sum were pretty good and nicely portioned. My wife got the curry kimchi flavored chicken cutlet and scrambled egg in rice. The portion was generous and the chicken cutlet was boneless chicken thigh with crispy skin on. Very filling and wife was very happy with the food. My fried 'shin Ramyun' korean instant noodles with chicken cutlet served in a bowl. The noodles were stir fried and you can taste the 'wok hei' which brings back memories of eating Cantonese food in Hong Kong. I would definitely order this again. Perfect balance of flavour in the noodles along with a juicy chicken cutlet. My sister-in-law got the claypot spareribs with rice. It took 45 minutes to come out. It warns you on the menu as well. This order left us wanting more. There was a small portion of spareribs and mostly rice. I would not recommend this dish if it's your first time. Not worth the wait. Overall we enjoyed our experience here. It is on the pricier spectrum for HK style dining experience. They do have a decent amount of options for you to try. So you can always come back and try somethint new. The dim sum desserts were very eye candy and fun. Your kids will love it! Give this place a try if you're interested in trying some authentic HK style diner food. Follow me on IG @whenhungerstrikes17 And Yelp Darby C. Kid-friendliness: Nice kid friendly dim sum and desserts.
First visit, love the nostalgic Hong Kong decor. Servers were polite, calm and collected, despite being asked for missing items like napkins, spoons, etc. Deep fried wontons a must order. And the special dim sum platter is another hit. Will try to go again if the wait is short.Food: 5/5
