I finally found my Chinese eatery in downtown! Despite of those negative reviews lately written, I decided to place a take out order of general chicken with half curiosity and half doubt as I assume such menu is not a quite popular dish here or in Vancouver in general. Also the mall seemed really dead around 6pm. The lady at the counter was nice. paid $15.75 in total. The food took about 15-20 minutes. There were constant orders even towards their closing hour. The kitchen seemed quite clean and the chef was wearing a latex glove and apron and a mask on his face. Tasty and good size. The sauce did not exactly taste like other General Chickens I’ve eaten tasted like buttered corn and salty than sweet but the quality of the meat and broccoli in such portion is really good for the money. Honestly, it’s better than Pcful restaurant in downtown. I will definitely go back and order combos and other dishes mentioned a lot in their past reviews. I like this place!
Such good value and very fresh!! The food is good too Ordered the mapo tofu on rice and it came with so much tofu There’s a good amount of selection, so there’s something for everyone. The mapo tofu was good, it has some numbing spice in it, which makes it a little different, but in a good way. The staff is super nice too. It’s the only food court I’ve been to where they bring you the food! And they give us tea as well as 2 sets of cutlery without us even having to ask. Super sweet.
Ming Fong is a great staple for when you want home style food at a great price point. The servings are overly generous. My personal favourite is the salted fish fried rice. If you call ahead you can pick up without waiting.
First time here and I was surprised by the size of the portions- they're huge and generous! Service was super friendly, I get an introduction about all the meals I can have. And everything was cooked with attention to details. Norman was amazing! Definitely will recommend to all my friends. And will come again !Food: 5/5
Taste is okay. Price is on the low to mid end. Portion is average as well, so overall nothing to write home about. They did increased their prices in recent months/years a few times more recently from three months ago, but what really bugged me was the dishes that we ordered had a different price then was posted there were two prices posted: one on the green poster ~$8.50-$9.50 and one on the right side with the pictures ~$10.50-$11.99 even though the dishes had the same exact dish names and descriptions. When I questioned it, the female owner rudely said, ignored the posted prices and look at the other posted price. Sounds super sketch to me and her attitude was rude and too much. If your prices changed, then post the correct ones and explained it as "we haven't had a chance to change it yet." No big deal. Definitely didn't appreciate the extra attitude.
Almost left when saw it was a food fair, not a restaurant. So glad we stayed!! Delicious, fresh, tasty, soo good!! And friendly helpful staff.
great prices, super fast service, lots of selection. I ordered the salty fish and chicken fried rice, best one I've had so far. the fried rice with tomato sauce and white coconut sauce is great. gotta try out. pretty much the lowest price in town, but the quality of the food is excellent. will definitely try other things on the menu.
We have enjoyed salted fish and chicken fried rice and sweet and sour pork rice from this outlet in the last two months. However, the same dishes today were prepared by the owner instead of the old cook and the dishes were so bad that we threw them away. It is very disappointing.
This place is such a gem and is run by the sweetest people. The prices are great, the food is delicious, and the service is top notch. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone! Singapore noodles are a fan favorite :
Ordered on Uber Eats: Ginger Beef and Beef Pan-fried rice noodles. Prices are low but the food was pretty bland and portions are slightly smaller than other shops I order from usually. I don't want to order there again and fortunately won't have to as there are many great options in Vancouver.
