Slightly a bit more than I pay in old Toronto BUT I can see why. I ordered Halibut which naturally tends to cost more, portion was large and worth the price, picture doesn’t do it justice for how deep the portion is. No fishy taste, thick dense piece of halibut. Batter recipe was great, thin overall with more fish than batter, with a section of crunch. Fries were freshly made, unsalted so make sure to ask for salt if you aren’t a vinegar and chips person. Would visit again.
Delicious lunch special - haddock. Battered fresh right in front of you. Fries freshly cut, thicker English chippie style, fried fresh per order right in front of you as well. Put in takeout box fresh out of the fryer. No waiting under heat lamps..there are none. Arrives blistering hot. As can be seen in the photos, the batter is extraordinarily crispy and just shatters when bite into. Light flaky white fish. No fry oil taste. Premium vegetable oil is used and on display in crates. Paper takeout box had just a few spots of oil in it. Coleslaw flavourful. Appreciate tartar sauce and malt vinegar. Premises exceptionally clean. Appreciate having a chair for seniors to sit down on, although the wait is only the time it takes to cook your food fresh. Extremely reasonable prices. Friendly, efficient service. Milton’s little gem, as the restaurant is just off of Main Street on Wilson Street. Will return for a halibut dinner at some point.
Food: The haddock + fries tastes and smells amazing. Value: For around $10, you get great value. Atmosphere: Insanely clean for a fried food joint. Staff: Run by a very friendly and nice couple. Speed: Call ahead and it should take them 10-15 minutes to make. Takeout: They’ll package everything perfectly so the bag has zero grease leaking through.
This fish and chips shop is quite nice. I came here and ordered the haddock and chips. The fish was quite delicious. The chips were nice but a little dry, but it comes with some tartar sauce aswell. Not too busy, very underrated. Food: 5/5
This was my first visit. I liked it very much. The portions are full size, the quality of cooking oil is clean! The other compertitors cut the fish, so thin, one can hardly taste it. Well they lost my business for good. Hope this shop maintains quality, or else we will move in. Keep up the good cooking, Cook!
Though I had to await a while for my turn around 5PM when I was not expecting a lot of people, I found haddock and chips very delicious and tasty. So full marks for the food. Just a suggestion, please order in advance before showing up to avoid undue delays.
This is the first fish and chips I have tried in Milton. These fish and chips were particularly good. The batter on the fish and the quality of the chips were the highlights of my fish and chips experience. I can fish and chips these fish and chips all day long. Fish and chips.
Best fish and chips in Milton. Big portions and fair prices. The fish is always cooked perfectly, the batter is nice and crisp and doesn't get soft and the fish is always flaky but never dry. So happy to have found this place because it's our go to place for Fish and chips!
Updating an earlier review: 5 stars now. Not sure if the batter has been tweaked, but extra crunch while not overdone. Great fish, great chips. Same friendly smiles. Original review: Good fish, good chips. Really like their cod. A nice step outside of the usual haddock & halibut. Onion rings are sometimes the best and at other times just okay. A lot of care goes into what the put together though. A very friendly family-owned business run by a nice couple. Need to support a place like this, especially during these times where walk-in traffic is down. #takeout #fishandchips #Milton
Today, Good Friday was our first visit. After almost living in town for 13 years, we finally tried this gem. It was awesome! There was a lineup, and we were told of an approximate 60-70 minute wait for food, but the line moved quickly, and efficiently. Staff were very nice, and seemed to appreciate the patience customers were showing. The wait was SO worth the food we received! Huge portions, and it was fantastic.! We normally go to another local fish & chips in town, but no more. We will now be regulars at Milton Fish & Chips. Thanks so much for a great meal. We are looking forward to the next time. Thank you!
