The owner/cook introduced himself, the waitress welcomed us, I felt home, real authentic dinner vibe. The food is just incredible, this breakfast makes the top 10 list in my life. Self serving of REAL maple syrup, pancakes we're just to die for, the breakfast sandwhich WOW, I dropped some maple syrup on it as well, amazing! Price are very fare for the level of quality. Overall best breakfast experience in Canada.
The look of an old school deli is bang-on. The menu is very limited, but the food is well prepared, tasty and obviously made with quality ingredients. The waitress was pleasant. However, it took about 30 minutes from the time we were seated to the time we received a plate of pancakes and a standard breakfast plate. The breakfast plate was $18, and apart from the bacon portion, it seemed a little on the skimpy side. The pancakes were extremely fluffy, but $14 for plain pancakes, no sides seems a bit exaggerated. The place was full of young clientele so they don't seem to be suffering for business. Conclusion: good food, but not the best value for money.
Laid back diner style spot in Verdun. The pancakes were super fluffy and delicious. The breakfast sandwich was kind of bland, but it’s saving grace was the bacon inside, otherwise you can mostly just taste bread from the big bun. Didn’t try the breakfast plate but I think that would be a good alternative for next time. Prices feel high given portion sizes, quality and interior. 4 stars though for the lovely staff, the pancakes and the bacon :
Small quaint breakfast place with very friendly staff. Had the Breakfast plate which had delicious THICK cut bacon worth ordering extra. I was pleasantly surprised with their potatoes: topped with a nice sesame seed spice blend. The pancakes were a bit bland in taste, but fresh and warm and fluffly. I think the only thing missing would be butter, so I suggest asking for some salted butter on the side to make it much more enjoyable. Maple syrup is served with pancakes.
For a place that's brand new, it definitely has an old school, mile end dîner vibe. Counter stools, a few booths and a few tables. No AC, but the big window was open. Breakfast and lunch items, I tried the breakfast plate, which was two eggs, two slices of thick cut bacon, home fries with everything bagel seasoning and buttered toast. Very well made. My friends had the breakfast sandwich and Caesar salad, all good. Friendly service, prices weren't cheap but good quality, except maybe for the tea, 4$ a cup I was expecting loose leaf. Overall a great breakfast option in Verdun, the only thing missing was booze!!
This spot lured me in with their posting on pancakes! I kid you not! I was looking and saying to myself, “It’s pancakes, ok?” Well I made my way there finally and let me tell you…..IT’S PANCAKES! The stack was the most fluffy, light and filling batch of hotcakes I have ever come across and I make great pancakes! When the real maple syrup hit those stacks you will have a hard time putting your fork down, it keeps you going back for that next bite, y’all! I also ordered scrabbled eggs with bacon and was not disappointed when the plate came to the table and I saw the bacon not your standard see-through, thinly sliced bacon this was 2 generous slabs of bacon cooked perfectly and was so satisfying I shed a tear of thankfulness. My partner had the omelette and the moment he took a mouthful he was in his zen, which was enlightened to another level by those breakfast potatoes with the everything bagel seasoning on them, to die for people! . It was hot today that the bottled water given to us when we arrived was just enough but as we ate we decided a meal this good needs a coffee to close it out. Yo! Even the coffee was on point! It was so good to the last drop. Our waitress was outstanding and it was nice watching our meal being prepared by the owner/chef. He is on his game and I hope he will be there for a long time! OMG those PANCAKES!
Small hip and trendy no frills breakfast spot on “the coolest street in the world”. We waited around 15 min to be seated on a Sunday around noon, the place was packed! Food was altogether quite good but the BLT impressed! The slices of bacon in there were so very thiccc. Pancake were decent and came with a nice cinnamony apple compote. We also grabbed a side of everything bagel roast potatoes - not as cool as they sound like they would be. Would definitely go back for this bacon, and their cool mugs.
I tried Millman’s last month and went back today! It’s becoming one of my go-to places for brunch. I love the breakfast sandwich specifically. I also love their thick slices of bacon, which I look forward to. If you like your bacon thin and crispy, might not be for you though. The service can be a bit on the slower side so don’t go if you are in a rush, but it’s worth it because when the food comes, you can tell that everything was prepared when ordered and very fresh.
The food in this brunch place is just amazing. We ordered the Assiette déjeuner and it did not disappoint. Creamy scrambled eggs, perfect thick bacon great ratio of fat and meat, and crispy potatoes cubes! Also very fresh and sweet slice of melon to balance the meal. We had to try the pancake so we ordered them on the side 1 piece: tasty, sweet and fluffy. Overall amazing place and staff, a little bit too noisy and hot inside the premises, but the food is just worth it!
A 5-star diner experience. The menu options are diner-style food with top quality ingredients and cooking, with a few modern brunch options. For example, the traditional breakfast plate consists of toast, bacon, potatoes and eggs. The toasts weren’t the classic white bread slices, the bacon was thick, good cuts and tasty, the potatoes were delicious and we gambled ordering scrambled eggs, but they weren’t overcooked and were amazing. The only odd thing for me was that the filter coffee was charged by the cup, and not unlimited refills. It’s a bit weird considering it was served in a classic coffee pot, but it’s not a dealbreaker. Great place, go there before it gets too popular!
