About

We are a partnership of midwives who work in Toronto, Canada.

Story

Midwives attend your birth at home, the Toronto Birth Centre or at Michael Garron Hospital; midwives will give you information to make decisions and choices that are right for you and your family. One of your midwives will always be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for urgent concerns. You will be cared for by well-trained, sensitive female caregivers that respect individual differences of women and their families. Cultural sensitivity is an important aspect of the care your midwives will provide.

Mission

Midwives provide care for healthy women throughout pregnancy, labour, and birth, and provide care to both the mother and baby for the first 6 weeks postpartum.

Products

Midwifery care is provided through funding from the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

Highly recommended!!! Then yellow team composed of Melinda, Katie, Melissa together with the admins Teena and Mary are all heaven sent. They accepted us even we are too far from their office. They are all best in what they do and you will really feel their genuine care for the mother and the baby. They are like family to us! Wishing all the best for all the wonderful people of this clinic and may they help more moms and babies! Again thank you for taking care of my wife and my baby! Will see you all again on baby number two. :
I have no words to express the eternal gratitude we have for the midwives' team that assisted us in bringing our baby girl into the world in good health and with all the observations during the delivery. As an immigrant from this country I have had a great experience in my first pregnancy and it is thanks to you. Receive a big hug from us. Melinda, Melissa and Kathy
We received informative, compassionate, and responsive care from our team of midwives. When our baby wouldn’t turn, we were given the options and information needed to plan our next steps. We attempted ECV, but it was unsuccessful and I ultimately needed to have a scheduled c-section. Nabal’s support during the delivery was wonderful and we received excellent postpartum care from the whole team. Thank you Arian, Nabal, and Inga Meredith, too for your amazing care!
Opting out of the OB model to midwifery care was great decision for me. I was lucky enough to work with the amazing Yellow team: Mehran, Francine, Melinda and Katie. The appointments were always informative, and my care was tailored to my comfort. I have never felt pressured to take a course of action that I was not comfortable with. I felt very in control of my pregnancy and labour experience. The level of education and coaching I have received allowed me to have a swift, unmedicated as I had wished labour and a quick delivery. I have seldom heard positive experiences from friends or family members who went to the hospital. I still reminisce about labour and delivery, it was that magical. This team helped me realize that labour can be positive and a euphoric experience. I am so grateful for your kindness, professionalism and devotion Yellow team.

I have so much praise and thanks to the Midwives Clinic, specifically Jennifer and Sonia for being so supportive, helpful, and amazing throughout my pregnancy and delivery. I always felt that Jen and Sonia provided accurate information, were always available, consistently had positive and upbeat attitudes despite being extremely busy, and showed such kindness and patience. I had a simple pregnancy, free of any complications. My delivery was a different story. However, I got through the hardest experience of my life only because Jen and Sonia were with me every step of the way. These ladies were instrumental in lowering my anxiety and stress levels, managing expectations, and providing strategies and approaches to adjust to being a new mom. I cannot thank Jen and Sonia of the Midwives Clinic enough. I would highly recommend The Midwives Clinic and their wonderful team members in providing care to members of the community.
From the moment I found out I was pregnant, I knew that I would like to be in the care of midwives. I initially began my care with another midwifery clinic but found it difficult to connect with my assigned midwife. Around 20 weeks, I decided to switch into the care of Sarah W and Christie at The Midwives’ Clinic.* They were both incredibly kind and knowledgeable, answering all of my many questions, and explaining each decision and test thoroughly. This meant that I was able to fully trust my care providers and knew that they could manage any situation that might occur with the birth. When my partner and I decided on a home birth, I began visualizing our ideal scenario in our tiny condo. When the day came, the birth was as magical as I imagined. I felt so prepared, cared for, supported, and in control. Following the birth, the midwives educated on breastfeeding and certain things to watch for, then our babe was tucked into bed with my partner and I. It was the most wonderful day of my life. I was also extremely well cared for in the postpartum period and was so grateful for the home visits and phone calls to answer any questions that I had. Thank you so much : *Also a big thank you to midwives Nebal and Stacey student who attended the birth along with Christie.
I met Sonia when I was 5 months pregnant. I had made the decision part way through my pregnancy to switch to a midwife because I felt that my pregnancy experience and relationship with my health care provider could be better. I had friends who had very positive experiences with their midwives and I wanted to explore that option. I was unsure if I would even get assigned to someone because I knew there were often long wait-lists, but luckily, I received a call and scheduled a meet and greet with Sonia. At the time, in 2018, Sonia was working at the Midwives Collective in Toronto. She was about one year out and was very upfront with me about her experience. She explained that there were senior midwives who were always there for her to consult with, and that her caseload wasn’t as heavy the first year out in order to provide the best care possible to her patients. At our visit, I felt very comfortable with Sonia. She explained the history of midwifery in Canada, the misconceptions the public sometimes had about midwifery and answered my questions very thoughtfully. A few days later, she called me to follow up. I decided that I wanted to be in her care. And I am so, so thankful I made that decision. Sonia is kind, caring, intuitive, knowledgeable and all around a true professional. The rest of my pregnancy was smooth without complications and she guided me safely through my delivery and after care. As a first-time mother, as much as you can prepare, childbirth a surreal and crazy experience. Sonia was calm and lead the way like she had been doing this her whole life. She knew when to push me time to get out of the tub Jeanie and when to ramp things up when it was time to push. She suggested different positions to promote advancement of the baby and they worked! I safely delivered my baby boy and the aftercare was even better. It is priceless to have the same person who delivered your baby, also care for you in the coming days. They know you, understand you and you trust them completely. I had a complication that resulted in urinary retention, and Sonia was there the next day to place a catheter, and many other times after that. Sonia was there for me every moment I needed her. Her care was exceptional, and I will forever be grateful to her. Thank you Sonia.
Everyone I met at the clinic was wonderful! Sarah Fallis was my main midwife and helped me every step of the way. She was so positive, reassuring and knowledgeable. She made my experience incredible! Sarah Leslie delivered my baby and she was amazing too! She gave me the strength I needed to get through my delivery. She put me at ease and I felt so safe and confident in her care. I highly recommend this amazing team of women!!!
If I could give 10 stars I would. I had both my pregnancies with the Midwives here. I am grateful for the level of support and knowledge that they have. The Green team was phenomenal and the six weeks of after care and support truly made my transition to motherhood as smooth as possible. They all go above and beyond to ensure that you and your new little one are taken care of. A Midwife is a great resource during an intimate and vulnerable time in your life. Wish I could have more time with them! Thanks for everything Tracy, Sarah and Sarah! P.s. Never had any problems or incidents with the reception staff, they were always kind, courteous and helpful.
