Was looking for nearby Korean food and this place fit the bill. Inside is very casual with a basketball sports theme - it’s a fun place to be. We noticed they had a handful of vegetarian options, so we tried the truffle japchae and vegetarian kimchi tofu soup.nnTruffle japchae has a decent truffle taste, and good amount of texture for the veggie to noodle ratio. However, my only thing was that it was a bit too oily and I wish they would’ve cut the noodles like how you usually do just because the potato starch noodles are quite chewy. Then again, I could’ve just asked for scissors. The Tofu Soup was on point - great flavour, decent spice level and I have no complaints. It’s the perfect rainy day meal, but if you’re not big on spicy food, I wouldn’t recommend it because it has a decent kick considering it’s their standard spice level.nnOverall, I had a great experience here. They have some meat with cheese options I want to try in the future as well and it looks like they have lots of good options to come in groups of 4. The prices are reasonable, service fast and it’s a great casual spot for solid Korean food!
My favourite Korean restaurant in Van and its super close to campus!! I ordered the Midam platter with two of my friends and the portions were so huge and delicious. The dessert was sososo good and the servers were all so kind and sweet. Definitely will come again :
The Korean food here is sooo good! We’ve eaten here many times now and have loved every dish we’ve tried. Top stars for the Tteokbokki and the hot stone bowl Bibimbap! Super friendly and helpful staff too
Just so DELICIOUS ! It was literally my first time visiting Midam cafe on Broadway. I was with my friend and I’m thrilled to say that it was one of the best experience I ever had in the restaurant scene in Vancouver. I got myself a Kimchi Bacon Udon and also a BBQ Squid and Pork belly. I couldn’t choose which dishes were the best because they were both incredibly good, juicy, just spicy as I expected. I’m gourmand I know and I ate both of them without any issues lol. My friend got a Vegan Tofu BBP, and he was thrilled as well. I cannot wait to come back, and try other dishes, everything looks yummy.nI highly and strongly recommend Midam Cafe, you guys deserve more visibility and gratefulness. Again, thank you so much
Do you like Korean food? Do you like basketball? Do you like cinderblocks and sheet metal? Yes??? Well this might be the perfect restaurant for you it has all that. There is basketball stuff everywhere but you can't dunk. And the food is FANTASTIC. I had bulgogi and it was incredible. Served with sides and comes piping hot that stays hit for a very very long time and the rice in the bowls gets crispy from the heat and you can scrape it off and eat it like that. Also tried the japchae which was awesome. You can easily share these items. When we arrived, the server was on her phone in the back and we had to go get her to alert her to our presence after a few minutes of awkwardly standing at the front. Ordered a coke and it never came. Would return for the food.
